Golfer Reviews
Wheres the Grass
Fairways are drying out and have very little grass. Tee boxes are not any better. Golfers driving carts right up to and around the greens. Needs alot of work
Fairways need lots of improvement
This course has a user friendly layout even for high handicappers, conditions of greens have steadily improved since December, fairways however are much less desirable little to no payable turf to hit off of on many holes, as for the areas off the fairways and green complexes very poor. no grooming evident at all, many lies almost unplayable. On a positive note Staff is very friendly and welcoming, hopefully management will continue to make the necessary investments in course conditions and maintenance that this track deserves to help bring this course up to his playability potential. Back 9 holes much more interesting including the 15th and 16th water holes also in much better condition.
I'm So Confused !!!!!
It took me all this time to figure out that Citrus National used to be Southern Woods. The sign out front still says Southern Woods. Things are a lot better though. Really nice carts, super friendly staff and great course conditions. Could not find a problem anywhere. Great value !!!!!
Excellent course
New owners are making a difference.
Fun to play with a different look on every hole.
Okay Course
Fairways were sparse as are most courses in Florida this time of year. Layout was interesting and greens were pretty good. The course has a lot of moles making this course their home.
Getting better
Definite improvements underway. Need more grass growth on some tees, fairways and first cut of rough. Greens are in really nice shape and driving range, putting green and practice area are in great shape.
Far from a $70 course
Just drove 1 1/2 hours to play a new 4 star course. The staff was very unfriendly and was suited for the local golfers. We were rushed onto the first tee. The ranger drove up to us twice to tell us to pick up pace of play. Decent local course, do not expect much it coming from out of town.
