New owners are making some great improvements and progress on the courses, clubhouse and other amenities at this beautiful community

The pro shop didnt let us get out early but yet the tee box was open waiting on the members. Played as a 2 some and caught up to another 2 some said they were waiting on every shot. Didnt ask to join together. THere was water cups and ice machine at the turn. The first hole my clubs went flying off the cart old straps and junky carts. Maybe the new owners will put some real money into the place it needs real work. The greens were pretty good, fairways and rough not really still brown for the most part. This is when we should be seeing some green grass. No excuses really except the money!! Wont be back and CANNOT recommend it.

Could use some work on the fairways. Greens not as good as they used to be. Don't forget to double strap those clubs on the carts!!

Hale Irwin design nice layout the course needs some care on the tees and rough with grass overall nice track conditions need improvement

Plays long, but forgiving. Give this course a try.

Don't judge till you've played the back. I suspect the front will soon be as nice.

I enjoy playing Southern Woods now called Citrus National a lot, the course is under renovation in certain areas but the tee boxes need some attention

I like the practice area very much.... the geens were full of grass but on the slower side.... some bare spots in the fiarways..... it looks like tons of neglect from the previous owners..... I hear new owners are investing some money.

I happened upon Southern Woods while killing time before an evening meeting I had scheduled.

What a great course! I had to sit and wait out a thunder storm while on 4. and again for about 30 minutes when I was making the turn.

Greens are in great shape. It is a very nice and challenging course.

We played early afternoon. Not crowded at all. Greens were very nice. We haven't played for almost a year so it was a wonderful afternoon.

Overall the greens are in pretty decent shape. I’ve been playing and traveling to different courses in the Tampa Bay Area and their greens are respectable. But it’s heavily lacking TLC on the fairways and the “rough” is bare with splotchy patches of grass. Not too impressed to be honest. It’s actually gotten worse since I’ve played there this past winter. Also it’s not worth nothing more than a Hot Deal and thats even pushing it. I’ve played $40 courses that should’ve been $80-$100 and this one is not

Ii was definitely an unexpected surprise playing at southern woods. Played a course in this area a short time ago & was very disappointed. I wasn’t expecting much but wanted to try this course. It was inviting from the first hole. I felt challenged but could still feel confidence playing the holes as the added up. Greens were perfect considering the time of year. I loved the waterfall. Would & will play again. Im thankful for the experience & fun playing this course. Really enjoy playing a good course for the first time
