Citrus National Golf Club

This is one of the worst courses in Florida. I went against my better judgment and played the course today. The conditions were terrible, from the actual driveway being torn up to the clubhouse being a trailer. The reviews are correct and it is not a good place to play if you want any grass to hit off of. Putting greens are rough as well. The layout is very nice but sadly the shape of everything is like a goat pasture. My thoughts are to warn you and I will never be back it needs to close for good. Even for free it would be a waste of time. The guy working was a jerk face too angry old man.

Greens are good overall, a few were patchy. Tees and fairways brown & dry. Great value for the money for the afternoon rate. Fast round, 3 hrs for 18.

This course used to be gorgeous! Now it’s one of the worst courses around! Fairways are dirt and so are the tee boxes! Greens are OK you sometimes have to move your ball so you’re not putting over tundra!

I'm not a great golfer so the special worked for me.

They should be charged with Theft of Services, because you pay for playing on a golf course and the only thing that lets you know it’s a golf course is the carts! No grass to be found on fairways and tee boxes (all sand fairways), greens are diseased with bare spots, but the cart was nice. Their best bet is to shut it down and over-seed the crap out of it.

Won’t be back till it’s back, don’t waste your money.

Terrible condition: virtually no grass on tee boxes and fairways. Greens were decent for grass and running very fast. Bunkers were excellent to hit out of with lots of sand. We still had fun playing this Hale Irwin designed course, Pro was very friendly and offered us a deal for next round. We will probably take him up on his offer for our golf group of 12. You will learn how to hit from challenging lies...lol.

The course fairways are sand and weeds. Not great conditions but they are working on improvements.

Hit some balls on the range but they were making hit from the opposite end of the range cos there’s zero grass to hit off of which is where I saw a twosome playing on one of the adjacent holes..Teed off at 11:30 bye myself & never ever saw another player my whole round, zero grass including crabgrass, tuff hitting out of sand every shot, it was more like top dressing than sand, very dark, had to move the ball every shot to find a sprig of weeds to hit off of, greens were ok for the most part, bad spots here & there but very putt-able , carts are very nice. Glad I got discounted on GOLF NOW. They’re trying,

More dirt than grass on tee boxes and fairways. Skip this course until they make some major improvements.

There is no upkeep here. Tee boxes horrible, fairways gross, greens bad. Spend some money and make it nice

This is one of worst courses I have ever played. Played last year after the new owners took over . Well the course is is in worse shape..not worth playing

The only reason I go to this course is to get some swings in after time away from the game. This course has fallen into complete disrepair, unfortunately like so many in the area. I could go on and on regarding how bad this course is. It is literally unplayable. Nothing positive about course, range, practice area, and putting green. So sad that there were so many outstanding courses in this area, like this one once was, that have turned to dust and dirt.

Wonderful layout but conditions awful. Worst I have played anywhere… fairways are just dirt and weeds, greens are very poor with grass covering about half of most of them, bunkers were surprisingly good. For $20 it was fun just to get out and course was almost empty but be prepared for very poor conditions

The Tee boxes and the Fairways are a little rough,but the greens were pretty good,I know they are working to improve the course hopefully won’t take long,also great value for the money,and the staff there are outstanding,nice place

The course is really chewed up. Tee boxes , fairways and greens in horrible shape. Certainly not worth $40 a round.

Love the layout . The greens are fine. The rest is a desert you have to find a weed to put your ball on because there is no grass in the fairways. A simple 50 cent red stickb at 100 yards would really help since markers are covered with desert sand.

Last time I played it was very good. I guess the rain did not help this piece of crap. Free golf balls on the range though and the pro shop lady was nice.
