Course in terrible shape
This course is in terrible shape, t-boxes and fairways are rough and uneven like a potatoe field, bunkers are dirty and not shaped.
In my opinion they would have to close down this property fpr 2 years and completely re-do it.
It was by FAR the worst course Îve ever played!!
Stakes
We play this course a lot, 2 times last week, 2 times this week. The yardage markers are extremely hard to find. The bird houses help for the 150's but you have to search for the 100"s. For less then $100 it would improve it so much if stakes painted red were on each side of the fairway or one in the middle for the 100 yard mark.
Worth it if you can get a coupon
Had a terrific round today. More for the 3some I accompanied but the course is playable and Hopefully, management is attempting to turn it around for the positive. Greens were just ok, weeds are there. The layout is so good. If they could just grow some grass after the rye goes away and start spraying for preemergent weeds. Still not sure if the course superintendent knows what he is doing.
take your GOLFNOW VOUCHER
Course is okay-greens smooth and fast. Fairways are typical Florida, little grass, keep carts in rough!Played this course several times this year. THRU GOLFNPW, without any difficulties, and without taking my reservation form. Monday desk agent knew I booked thru GOLFNOW, but would not honor the reservation without having the paper. First time he would not believe his computer this year. Instead of my golf now fee of $45 for 2 players ( with my discount points) He charged $86.00. We are going to go back and argue my receipt from golf now.
Going down hill
Use to really enjoy playing this course but as of late it has taken a turn for the worse. Grass on some greens was getting sparse with aeration cuts that made your ball bounce instead of roll, fairways were dry & rock hard with grass patches (back nine was in better shape than front) but sand traps were in good shape. I constantly hear that the new owners are trying to improve the course but it seems the club house is more important. This is an ok course for $18 to $20 bucks but you’d be crazy to pay more.
Love this course. The greenns are good, some t boxes bad especiall #7. Most fairways need more improvement to look like #14
Good golf course
Unfortunately the courses is in rough shape.
The back nine is much better.
Tees and Greens good, fairways need work.
Good layout.😮💨
I really want to like the course, but I can't. Sorry.
I really, really want to like this course, but I can't. I play it, but I don't love it.
I do enjoy playing at Citrus National because it's fairly close by and convenient to get to. As one who enjoys the game of golf, I want to play at courses that have pride in what they do and who try to add value to the game. CN has potential...it really does. But right now the course is hurting, it needs a lot of love and attention. I'm sure the owners are trying to provide a good product, but here is what I'm seeing.....the tee boxes are more sand than grass. The fairways are in trouble and need more grass to go with the sand, The greens have improved in my opinion, but still are not up to the standards that customers expect. Currently, CN is one of the more expensive courses in this region Hernando & Citrus counties, but it is not a good value for the price right now. The $50 price is not a good value for this course. On a side note, I was very taken a back when I overheard CN "members" talking bad about GolfNow and the "despicable hackers"s" that it brings to the course. Well, it's the paying GolfNow customers that are providing additional revenue to help keep this course open. They were hanging out in their fancy private golf cart talking with people who were in the pool lanai house on the 7th fairway bunkers (3rd or 4th house from the green). Very rude snooty entitled "members" found at this course! Quite different that the courteous, friendly staff who work in the clubhouse and at the course.
Course needs love
New owners were supposed to redo the course and make it brand new, and it's been almost two years and all that's happened is the prices jumped. Course is 80% sand and 20% dead grass. Our cart died on us on hole 11 and had to call pro shop to come get us. They do give you free range balls to start, but the range is also straight sand.
Great track
This is an amazing course. It needs tons of work. The greens are like playing PLINKO, the fairways lack grass and the tee boxes need help also. I love the layout and the staff but this course needs to be closed and given time to recover.
Very Slow Round
The pace of the group in front of us was excruciatingly slow (3 1/2 hrs. for 9 holes). Thankfully they quit after nine holed. We did play the last 9 in 2 3/4 hrs for 4 golfers. The course could use a ranger.
Fairways and some t areas need improvement. I would also suggest small painted stakes on the side of the fairways to indentify 100 yr mark as the markers in the ground are extremely hard to see.
