The Groves Golf and Country Club

This was my first time playing this course and I greatly enjoyed it. I played a round by myself just to get a feel for the course and it’s layiut before teaming up with others. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the course was in magnificent condition. I’ll definitely be back in the near future!!

Groves is a well maintained course, good greens and bunkers. Good value.

We enjoy playing there as it suits our age and abilities. However the front 9 was like playing in a swamp. The back nine was completely different and fine to play. They really need to improve the drainage on the front 9.

I read a bunch of recent reviews stating bare spots in the fairway… but I didn’t even notice. Maybe a couple along the whole course. Definitely not enough to make me view the course badly. Personally, I thought the course looked to be in great condition. Gorgeous greens; very nice fairways; challenging little course; tons of fun. Pace of play was slow because it was just my wife and I, and the people in front of us just kept going instead of offering for us to play through. The only negative thing I could say, would be about how swampy it was… but that’s only because of all the rain we’ve had (which can’t be controlled). I’d definitely come back!

Booked in golf now and got there and stayed collar shirts. Nothing stated on Golf Now but the guy at the counter was very much a person who should not deal with people. Arrogant and rude like he was King. From Wisconsin and will put reviews out there so people go elsewhere and save the headache of dealing with such an awful person!!

I have played this course many times and had always walked away impressed with the condition. But yesterday the condition took a 180. The greens did roll true, but slow is an understatement. The fairways were sandy and spotty with thin grass. Hopefully they can turn it around and get the fairways and tee boxes back to playable conditions.

A good course for working on your iron and hybrid game. Course was a little thin in spots on the fairway and some tee boxes, but overall it’s an enjoyable to play. My wife is a beginner and likes that no one is pushing her.

Just book eslewhere

Three cheers for the greens keeper as the greens are great, a bit slow but great. However, I’d avoid this course as the tee boxes were horrendous and many, if not all the fairways had wide swaths of just sand and barely a blade of grass. Slow play as the course is only 4000 yards from the tips and you have to wait for folks to clear the greens on the short par 4s. Far better value elsewhere if you want to play golf but this course is a hackers delight….and it shows.

The boxes are in poor condition need a lot of work.

We were unaware of the course being aerated. Very hot day. Too many cart path only
