About
Surrounded by 200 acres of carefully preserved wetlands, the Groves Golf & Country Club offers championship golf in a spectacular setting. It sits conveniently just 20 minutes north of Tampa in Land O Lakes. Maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape was a top priority when designing the golf course, which is why the layout manages to seamlessly blend into the surroundings. The course, which measures 4,026 yards, offers all of the challenging qualities of a championship-length course but can be played in four hours or less. The player-friendly golf course offers something for all skill levels whether you are a scratch golfer looking for a quick round, or a beginner looking for some challenging practice. In addition to the course, The Groves also boasts a unique aqua driving range as well as putting and chipping greens.

Only issue we had was the greens r not back to 100% due to being aerated!
By nxt wk they should be back to normal!
There r a couple of tee boxes under repair but this just shows they keep doing small improvements!

Renovations
Much course work being done renovating tee areas on a number of holes. They should not be charging full price while they renovate.

Book somewhere else
This course is located within a 55+ community and trust me they will let you know if you don’t belong. The pace of play was absolutely awful and zero etiquette was offered for a play through while they search for balls in the water and proceed to tell you that it’s their course. What a shame too because the back 9 bistro is awesome great food and exceptional staff but unfortunately you have to deal with the majority of the community giving you dirty looks and making snide comments. Will never return.

Spectacular!

Meh ..
Bald tee boxes, growth on fairways, greens not rolled over, cracked range balls .. On top of which a couple of holes were under construction. The course is short as it is - In addition to that there was a hole that they have materially shortened since otherwise the balls hit houses.
Suffice it to say this is the last time I go there.

Short course
Excellent short course. If you need to practice your short game, you’re long to your intermediate irons, this is the course to play at. Excellent excellent excellent will play again.

Meh
I’m not sure I get it. People seem to be raving about the course conditions. The Teebox is a bald. There is growth on the fairways and greens. Haven’t even been rolled over. The sand traps look nice and the course layout seems interesting. But unlikely I’m going to return

Memorial Day at the Groves
Most of the course was in great condition, the greens were arrayed two weeks ago and a bit bumpy still.
2 tee boxes were under sod repair but playable.

We had a great time! The only thing that was missing was there was no cart girl.

1st staff member we met, in the check in area / office was unwelcoming and hard to deal with. Short with us as new members and we feel he was annoyed we took him away from his conversation with another after we walked in. Lady at whole one, who worked there was very inviting and nice each time we saw her throughout the day. Would recommend this place for a close and inexpensive course to play at. Watch out for the 8ft gator that likes to Sun bath at hole 12....
