A tired golf course with angry management
I have played this golf course on and off for a few years. This used to be a respectable golf course but anymore it is just a frustrating experience. First of all they book tee times on 6 minute intervals when most other courses in the area book on 9 minute intervals. The pace of play is very slow because of this and there is never a ranger present to keep things moving. The greens used to be very good but the last few times I played there they were just terrible with weeds and invasive grasses all over the greens, as well as bare spots in areas. The pro shop staff is generally friendly but the management and owner is angry and not interested in providing any kind of reasonable customer service if you bring any concerns to their attention. The last few times I played there the range was closed for no apparent reason and the putting green was also closed. It is disappointing to pay their rates but not have the opportunity to warm up. I have always enjoyed the layout but I am not interested in paying top dollar to be frustrated on the golf course due to poor management and maintenance. It has become clear recently that this place has become nothing more than a money grab with no consideration for customer satisfaction. If you are looking for a golf course that cares about providing a positive quality golf experience this is not the place.
Challenging and Fun layout
I very much enjoyed the round, despite not playing my best (84). Plenty of water and sand of course, but also lots of subtle mounding and elevated greens - a nice touch! Greens were true and rolled out nicely, especially for a public access course, and the fairways were wide and luxuriant. Highly recommended.
Very nice for this time of the year
Course is in good shape and very challenging. Goes from wide open areas to hugging lakesides and a lot of areas to loose balls in 2nd and 3rd cuts. Staff is outstanding.
Outstanding value and fun to play
I played in late July. 2.5 hours to finish a round! Course was is great shape for hot, summer. Staff was outstanding. Definitely recommend!
Fathers Day!
Although there was a light and steady rain once we hit the back nine; the course overall is in great shape. Fairways in particular are in really good shape, and only a few inconsistencies on the greens as far as grain. I had a really great Father’s Day out there with my son and will definitely be back, as it’s our home course now..
Under maintance
Course was airafied along with the fairways, not in good shape, tee box's also in bad shape...stay away from this one!
Shaggy
Rough is rough
The tee boxes are shaggy
The fairways were good
The greens were punched two weeks ago and the fairways were punched with big holes
Tired Golf Course
Greens and tees being aerated. The course needs it. Hopefully in four weeks it will be back
A Nice Course, But....
Playing as a single on a Saturday midday round, the pro shop sent me out behind six foursomes. I played the first two holes, then jumped to ninth hole where I met up with a fun-loving threesome for one of the more enjoyable back nines in recent memory, even though pace of pace was still sluggish. The fairways and tee boxes were in fine shape, but the greens were brown, bumpy, yet amazingly fast. The wide-open course layout was mostly nondescript and stress-free, save a few Par 3's with water in front, plus a few holes wrapping around lakes. The beverage cart service was excellent, as was the young lad attending the carts. No GPS. WT is worth playing once, but not twice, unless the fee is around $20.
Excellent layout with great conditions. Played in 4 hours. Very enjoyable.
Great course layout
I was amazed how nice this course was. It madey weekend. From the tee boxes to fairways to the green in fantastic shape. Played with members who couldn't of been nicer.
Really liked this course. Lots of challenging holes with water and traps. Set up of trees allowed beginners and advanced golfers. Greens are large and fast but putt true. Starter was somewhat of a grump but rest of staff were very friendly and helpful. Will play this course again soon.
Pace was unacceptable today
My husband and I have played this course several times and we do enjoy the layout. Normally, the pace is better but today, it was a 5 hr round, which for us is unacceptable. There were holes we waited 10 minutes on the tees and no Marshall on the course. Three groups waiting on a par three is unacceptable as well. We can’t control the skill level of the players, but for most of us, pace of play is key. I realize it’s high season but I won’t be back on a Saturday until Summer.
Nice Choice to play in the area
First time playing here. Matched up with nice gentlemen that knew the course and offered some local knowledge. Course was in great shape. Greens had been worked on?: Some had brown/dirt look, but rolled fine with no problems-just a visual thing. Unless you hit errant shots, there is not a lot of trouble to get into. Bunkers played well (I hit into my share on approach shots into the wind). Staff were all great. The restaurant and bar are quite nice. I will return.
Greens were good. Had some weeds on them and burnt spots . Tea boxes were fair grass was not cut made it hard to tee the ball properly. Multiple bear spots . Bunkers were lacking needed more sand in them.
