About
Miami Springs Golf & Country Club dates back to 1925, making it one of the oldest courses in the area. The club is the original home of the Miami Open and it has hosted many notable players over the years including Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. The golf course has become a local favorite over the years, offering a round that is both challenging and affordable. The golf course has a traditional design with narrow fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are small and subtly undulating. It's a layout that demands accuracy and careful course management will be generously rewarded. You won't find too much water on the golf course but there are some strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. Miami Springs Golf & C.C. has some tricky holes but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper.

Solid round on 7/25
Overall a nice round. It was cloudy and not too hot which helped a ton. My biggest gripe is that the greens are in trash shape.
Fun challenge
Great course layout, some challenging holes that can test you
Those are about the best things about it as of this review (July 23). They had just dumped a bunch of sand on the greens which ruined their pace, and also aerated parts of the course which added to the bad. Not a great value either with these issues ($54 with cart and small bucket of range balls). The range is really torn up as well and needs a rebuild, and new balls. Thankfully the weather complied

Summer Doldrums
I enjoy Miami Springs. It is long enough to be challenging yet straightforward enough to play fast. In the summer its usually at 3.5 to 4 hour round. Our foursome was behind a twosome hitting multiple balls. We had to wait on every shot. It just shouldn't be this way. A call to the clubhouse produced no results. I will go again in the hopes that this was a fluke. If not there are lots of courses here in Miami.

Fair Course
It’s nice in the center of Miami Springs. It has great potential. The issue is the effort level by the admin of this course is dismal. You walk into an empty pro shop via an automatic door that freaks halfway open. There are no people dispatching carts I waited 10 minutes and eventually just got one and left. The course is rough around the edges with cart paths being missing altogether in some areas and holes of dirt along the course.
If you’re a beginner check it out and practice a few times, but there are definitely a few simple improvements needed to bring this course up to par.

Best value for the price in Miami Dade County
Miami Springs Country Club is a vintage (old style) golf course in the middle of Miami Springs (right next to the airport). The greens although not lightning fast are in excellent condition and the fairways are good. Not a whole lot of water and the fairways are wide for the most part so you've got to work at it to lose a a golf ball. Some of the holes are a bit on the long side (11, 12, and 17) come to mind which makes up for the wide fairways. The staff is friendly and efficient. Last but not least the Hole 19 Kitchen/Bar has excellent food and reasonable prices. Lots of TVs, a pool table, and outside patio to boot.

Don’t recommend if your a 10 handicap or better
Save your money if you actually want to get a good round in, greens are slow and patch’s everywhere, tee box’s are a total disaster. First and last time playing this course

Highly Recommended
I played this course while on a trip to the Miami area this winter. This is a great course with a great history. The course conditions and layout are on par with many municipal courses. Don't expect Trump Doral conditions. However, the staff is friendly and there are many local golfers who are extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the round and company - I'd recommend if you're in the area.
