Poinciana Country Club

About
The Poinciana Golf Club has recently re-opened under NEW MANAGEMENT and has done extensive renovations to the golf course including NEW GREENS.
Located in western Lake Worth, Poinciana Country Club is one of several great short courses that south Florida has to offer. At just over 4,000 yards, it is a quick and challenging test of your target golf skills. The greens are small with large breaks and there are swaying palms lining the fairways. The layout consists of par 3s that range from 103 to 172 yards and par 4s that are approximately 300 yards. There are strategically placed hazards throughout the golf course that offer good short game practice for more advanced players. Poinciana Country Club can conveniently be played in less than four hours. The golf course is still gentle enough for beginners though. It is popular amongst locals but still a well kept secret from the rest of south Florida.

Ok for the money.
It was ok for the money. Rental clubs were a bit rough, but what do you expect for $10.
Fast Greens!
Greens are beautiful and fast. Some of the tee boxes still need to be redone. Fairways are okay and will improve with some much needed rain
Value Golf
Small challenging course with small greens that were a bit bumpy but decent. The fairways were in poor shape but playable. The water hazards have a foul odor. The quality of the golfers at this course at first glance indicate novice to intermediates so if you are a single digit handicap, this may not be the place for you.
Ideal for those new to the game.
Poor condition
Course in very poor condition. Not a great layout.
Good cheap course, don’t go out behind old folks.
They do not have anyone ranging to make sure pace of play is being kept. I have been stuck behind groups that take 15 minutes to finish a par 3 and 20 minutes plus to finish a par 4 or 5. These slowest groups are always the ones that don’t invite you to play through them, and that’s why they need a ranger to be observing and making sure that pace of play is being kept. It should not take 30-45 minutes to make it through a few holes of golf.
Great Value
Great value to get a round in. Staff was consistently hospitable.
Better for the iguanas
Golf course was in overall poor condition. Surprisingly the greens were good and fast. But not enough so to balance out the overall poor playing surfaces. Even at $42 on a Saturday afternoon I’d stay away unless you really enjoy iguana spotting. There were plenty of them out there.
Play the course on Saturday course is very fun to play staff was unbelievable played there several times always was a pleasure
