Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course
About
There are three nines at the Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club, which can be played individually, consecutively, or as three different 18-hole combinations. Each nine has a unique layout with different challenges but all share the same lush landscape covered with stately trees and water features. The Panther/Bobcat combination offers a mix of narrow and wide fairways, some of which are lined with trees. A few strategically placed bunkers come into play along the greensides and there are also water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. Located just northwest of Tampa along the west Florida coast, the nines represent the best of Florida golf. Silver Dollar also boasts some of the area's most affordable rates, which makes the versatile layouts doubly appealing.

SilverDollar Golf
Course was in nice shape and pace of play was comfortable. Greens were fast probably due to dry weather conditions.
Greens were in great shape. Fairways and rough not so much.
Executive Course Great for Beginners
Just started to learn the game and have been playing now for over 6 months. The executive course is really nice for beginners like me because of the many Par 3’s. I enjoy this course very much.
Members rule
For the low to mid 20s in price this is worth the money, but be prepared for the local members who defiantly run the course. I saw & played behind groups as large as 6, that said since these old guys play from the womens tee play still moves okay. The track is in fair to good condition & having 3 nines is great to help speed up play. The folks who work here are nice & the foods is good.
Silver Dollar
It was a really fun round at Silverdollar. There wasn’t a lot of people on the course. The course is a little tight from green to tee boxes ,but everyone was respectful and the pace of play was pretty good. A lot of good sites on the course like ospreys, hawks, gators, and even turkeys. The course was in mostly good condition with some patchy areas of grass. The restaurant in the pro shop is very good and got a breakfast sandwich at the turn which was awesome. Overall very good experience and I will definitely be back.
Friendly Staff
The people were very nice. The course need some attention on the greens and around the greens as the carts have hardened the areas immediately surrounding the greens.
This course has a few tough, challenging holes that makes you want to come back at best them
Course was in good shape
Greens a little fast
6400+ from the blues
Pace was good - better than average
Got to see more than a few alligator
Challenging and well kept
Silver Dollar Golf Course is challenging and interesting. The fairways and greens were in great shape, the tee boxes were certainly tolerable or better. I appreciated some of the longer holes, and there was a fair women's advantage that made it competitive for couples. It's definitely on my favorites list.
Small greens
Greens on Gator had a lot of foreign grass .
Fairways were mediocre. Tees were poor
Interesting place!
This clubhouse is right in the middle of an over 55 and RV community but once you're out on the course it's all woods until you get back around to start the back nine then it's woods again. There are 3 nine hole courses here and you'll play 2 of them to make up an 18 hole round. Either the Gator-Panther, the Gator-Bobcat, or the Panther-Bobcat. I've always played the Gator-something, and can't remember ever playing the Panther-Bobcat together. Not sure why.
The greens were outstanding today. They were pretty fast and very smooth. A few of the tee boxes had some thin grass issues but for the most part the tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The course was a little soft and we had several balls plug on the Gator course which was our front nine. The Panther course was firmer and we didn't have any problems there unless we got near the water hazards.
Silver Dollar is also known for their Trap & Skeet Club across the street from the course so if the sound of shotguns blasting away at clay targets bothers you then this might not be the place for you. It usually isn't bad, and some day's not at all but today there were a few shooters enjoying the weather. To be fair it's only on the part of the course that's by the road that you can really hear the shooting. There's no danger of getting shot because the Trap range faces away from the course. So don't let that deter you.
The course is pretty wide open but there are a few challenging holes that require precise shots to prevent a high score. Overall I like this course. They have new carts which are very nice and the Pro Shop and Restaurant is nice too. There's plenty of room to social distance. To me the only knock against this course is they will charge you $10 extra per person for separate carts if you want to social distance. Most courses I play at only charge 1 ten dollar fee to split carts. Just about all courses are doing this now and I don't agree with it especially if we are under a mandate to social distance. To me it's like gouging but that's just my opinion and you may feel differently about it. I would still recommend this course regardless.
Always fun
About half the greens were nice the others were ok, but not bad. The course was in decent shape throughout and considering the price it was a good deal. One of the par 5’s is quite challenging due to the 2 doglegs. It was first time back in about 3 years, so enjoyed playing it again.
Needs work
Fairways and areas around green like hitting off concrete. Lots of bare spots. Greens are the only thing that’s in good shape. Nice place to have a beer & lunch afterwards. Cheap price, but I’d pay more for better conditions. Moving on to better courses.
Just Book It
The course is in good shape & the greens are better than most. That said by far the reason to play here is they have a starter who pairs players up & they have 3 9s, so play doesn't back up. So nice to see a course that simply won't allow play to backup because there are way too many groups of 2. The tee boxes are in rough shape, but who cares.
