Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course
About
There are three nines at the Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club, which can be played individually, consecutively, or as three different 18-hole combinations. Each nine has a unique layout with different challenges but all share the same lush landscape covered with stately trees and water features. The Panther/Bobcat combination offers a mix of narrow and wide fairways, some of which are lined with trees. A few strategically placed bunkers come into play along the greensides and there are also water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. Located just northwest of Tampa along the west Florida coast, the nines represent the best of Florida golf. Silver Dollar also boasts some of the area's most affordable rates, which makes the versatile layouts doubly appealing.

We can then all over the course Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/27/2013
worth the money
I am a high handicapper so this course suits me. Greens easy to read. Not a lot of water or bunkers in play. It's a little out of the way so it is perfect for a quick round in the afternoon.
hit the ball straight
hit the ball straight and you will not have to search for a ball three feet off the fairway. in the tall grass.the greens, though a little slow ran consistent . the sand traps could use some sand. the fairways were in good shape and the ground crews were everywhere. a good value for the price. don't play after too much rain, the course can get real soggy.
great course
the greens are good. the signs need fixing and also the trail bridge that goes to the back 9.
Silver Dollar /August 2016
The roughs were too high and you could lose your ball if you were a foot off the fairway. In there defense we have had an unusual amount of rain recently and I'm sure they have fallen behind. I would go back and play again and it's a good hour drive for me.
great greens
Course had been taking rain late at night all week. It was soggy. No signs for 90 degree rule so the fairways looked like a racetrack. Even with the water though course was great. excellent greens. bunkers were pretty hard packed. some narrow fairways make you trust your driver.
Striking gold at Silver Dollar
The course is somewhat challenging in regard to lay out. I have goofed there a couple times and the greens have been fabulous every time. The staff is very hospitable and friendly.
Course is wide open
Great course for those trying to straighten out their shots. Plenty of room to help clean up your driver/woods.
love the sound of gunfire
Good variety of sand traps ,water hazzards, and doglegs. Greens are beautiful and fast. Gun range across the street a little distracting, unless you like the sound of gunfire thru out your entire round. Do not remember gun fire two years ago when I discovered this course. Three nines and only played the gator and panther twice.
Don't waste your money
The only reason I played silver dollar was because of the proximity to my home. I've played there several times over the last two years, with each time being the worst. I hardly ever review a course. I don't think it's fair to make a judgement based on one visit. In my honest opinion the silver dollar is no more then a long field with a slightly elevated putting surface if you can even call it that. My balls would hit the green below the pin, bounce anywhere from 4-8 feet high depending on what club I was hitting. It's an incredible sight to watch a ball bounce serval feet higher then the pin when hitting from 150 yards and in. The staff isn't very friendly. And don't forget that there is a shooting club attached to the silver dollar just across the street. All you hear are the sounds of 12gauges going off in the near distance. I understand that it's a retirement community. This place is just all around terrible. I'll never waste my money there again. And I would suggest that you just drive to the Eagles and pay the extra $20 or $30 to play on a real golf course.
Good golf
The greens were In great condition with plenty of water hazards making for good golf.
NOT GOOD- NEEDS WATER
The course, overall, was Hard as a ROCK. Forget about taking a divot or stopping the ball on the green, unless you using a putter.

Good value for your money
Course was a good challenge but fair. There was a two club wind blowing, making one of the par-5s (the regulars call it the "Z" hole) VERY difficult at 580 from the whites.
Overall, course was in average condition. Tee boxes were well used, greens rolled well. It was a fun layout, with a good mix of doglegs and straight holes, and with woods, traps, and water all coming into play at various times.
Though walking is allowed, I highly recommend riding with several 200-300 yard hikes between holes.
Where is the grass
Lots and lots of bare spots in fairways, rough and everywhere else. Green were decent but fast , a little bumpy
Great course with long holes
The weather was beautiful even after heavy rains the course was in good condition and the greens are nice. The long par 3s and 5s make this a challenging course, but if you're not perfect off of the tee it's still playable so that helps some.
Great value for the money and they run on-time with very little waiting.
Thought the holes were very interesting would play it again
Enjoyed the round. Play had a good pace. The layout and length of the holes created a good test of golf skills.
Pleasant discovery
Greens where very good.
A lot of doglegs. Unusual layout
New Florida resident
The course is no frills and needs a lot of maintenance. Tees boxes are not level and full of divots, greens rolled good but again have unrepaired ball marks and spike marks, and fairways need some over seeding. Great course for beginners. The staff were great.
Good course for the money
We enjoyed the round. The pace was good and the greens were in good shape. Some of the tee boxes could use a little tlc. The course was well laid out. We would come back again.
