Mayfair Country Club
About
Opened in 1922, Mayfair Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida and it's still the only course in the historic city of Sanford. Over the years, it has hosted a number of famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is wide open with a traditional design that is player friendly enough to appeal to novices and experienced golfers alike. Like most older course designs, the fairways are wide but the approaches aren't very forgiving. Water hazards come into play on over half of the holes and you might be surprised by a few subtle but tricky elevation changes. Mayfair Country Club is not a formidable test by any means, but there are a few challenging holes that will make you think.

Decent Course for the $$
Always a good experience playing Mayfair. Not the best course in FL but decent for the $$. Greens were very fast & most were in excellent condition. All in all with weather in the mid 60's & Sunny a very pleasant round.
Great All-around Golf Experience
Amazing time, they really offer the whole package. Great conditions, well kept grounds, polite staff, and delicious food. All topped off with a great pro shop and everything you’d want in a course. Awesome experience, we’ll be back!
Not on Saturdays!!!
This place is a mess on Saturday mornings. You can expect 30 to 45 minute start delays to your tee times every weekend. If you’re gonna play…play during the week. Course was in decent shape and has been improving. There is no driving range…only a screen to hit into. Manage your expectations (of a 5 hour round) and you’re good.
Needs Attention
Course conditions were pretty poor, particularly around the greens.
Cups were so worn it was obvious they had not been changed in many days.
If I were the City of Sanford I would hold off on a new clubhouse and and spend the money upgrading course conditions. A nice clubhouse with a poor golf course doesn’t bring the golfers and there money.
Fun course, always a great experience!
My favorite course to play. The BEST staff! Amazing people. The randoms I meet are always friendly and help me with my game. They are currently working on the range but they’ve moved up the netting so it is open again. Whole 3 is back to a par 4 now that maintenance has been completed on it. Room for improvement on some wholes but they have made great progress in a very short time.
Challenging course
yes very Challenging course, now tht Timacuan is semi private this course is has become busy,
and starting to come around. no driving range, but food and drinks are a decent price. now the course details.
leveled fairway, cant see the ppl ahead of you, becareful . Tee boxes are along side of greens
we had a few close calls. get ready to yell four !!!! the money its decent.
dont go out in the moring hours, very busy with leagues and locals.
good luck
Enjoyable course
The staff is great. The course is well kept except for a couple greens that need work. The course layout doesn’t help the pace of play but ultimately it’s a fun course to play. I like how it’s close to me and it’s a course I’ll definitely have no issue playing consistently.
Really nice course
Overall course is in very good shape. Greens are very fast. I enjoy playing there.
Good bad ugly
The good was the green speed, fast and hard. The bad was the areas surrounding the greens, washed out bare dirt. The ugly was the pace of play, just horrible!
