About
Opened in 1922, Mayfair Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Florida and it's still the only course in the historic city of Sanford. Over the years, it has hosted a number of famous players including Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The layout is wide open with a traditional design that is player friendly enough to appeal to novices and experienced golfers alike. Like most older course designs, the fairways are wide but the approaches aren't very forgiving. Water hazards come into play on over half of the holes and you might be surprised by a few subtle but tricky elevation changes. Mayfair Country Club is not a formidable test by any means, but there are a few challenging holes that will make you think.

Rough fairways
As much as I like this course, the fairways are really rough! Too many bald spots and sanded spots to be called fairway. Hope these areas are getting seeded.
Overpriced
WOW, when I booked this I thought with the amount of money they were charging the course had been renovated… shocked to find it was the same old course… maybe worth $30, not any more
Mayfair review June 2023
Mayfair golf course offers excellent value for golfers with its great layout and wide fairways. The course provides a challenging and enjoyable experience for players. However, it's worth noting that a couple of holes are currently under construction, which might affect the overall playing experience. Additionally, the course tends to get quite hot, so it's advisable to come prepared with proper hydration and sun protection. Overall, Mayfair golf course is known for its expansive layout, making it ideal for players who enjoy wide and long fairways.
Decent course/lost a club
Pretty decent course. I left my S wedge on the 18th green and of course I called but nobody turned it in. Served me right but unfortunate this is the world we live in now where people just steal other peoples stuff.
Tee Boxes and Fairways
Tee Boxes and Fairways need work in many places. They really need to fix the number 3 hole, the temporary tee box has been there too long. There are only weeds on number 3 no grass at all. Number 12 is still a bad green. I do like the course but some attention to detail is necessary for this to be a great course.

Really nice course. Need to mark drop areas better.
Well maintained and very open fairways.
Recommended for beginners and novice.

First Time Playing Mayfair
My first time playing Mayfair and I'll definitely be back!
I hadn't played golf since pre-COVID, so I expected my game to be a bit rusty.Teed off at 100P on a Sunday. No waiting, and that held true the entire round. Course was fun and not overly challenging, which was perfect for my first time back. Greens were in good shape as well.
I'd say the course exceeded my expectations:-)
