Stoneybrook West Golf Course
About
Designed by Arthur Hills Stoneybrook West is a roaming blend of gutsy, penal holes, picturesque par threes over water, reachable par fives (527 and 522 yards from the tips, then 578 and 605), and several short, sporty par fours that cover all corners of the site. Dramatically rolling fairways salted with Hills' trademark grass-faced bunkers, subtle elevation changes and undulating greens were all artfully carved out of native orange groves, overlooking Black Lake. Water comes into play on 12 holes; you'll find all 18 are distinctly different, challenging and memorable.
For those visiting the Orlando area, particularly the Disney World complex, Stoneybrook West is just a matter of minutes up the road to the north. For those who frequent the Orlando golf circuit, Stoneybrook West is a course that must be seen to be measured against the other name courses.

Reviews
Pretty decent and better than the East course for a good player
Fairways are very inconsistent, with some entire holes being a soggy mudball producing mess and basically the entire hole being considered ground under repair, while others are hard as a rock. That's fine for me though. As a scratch player, all I really care about is having true-rolling quickish greens.
Management decided to overseed the sister course Stoneybrook East so that tee to green everything looks lush and green, but now those greens are like 8 on the stimp shag rug.
In light of this, better players will prefer this West course, but the hackers will likely prefer the East. Both layouts are interesting enough and present a good challenge from all tees and both offer a decent enough value for the Greater Orlando area, albeit both locations are quite a distance from the tourist areas. I.e. Each was a 1 hr drive from Old Town in Kissimmee.
The main issue I have with this West course is the $10 price for a tiny 25 ball warm up bag of awful floater balls. This is an unheard-of high cost.
Also very odd is how they put all the holes on the practice putting green in a perfect circle 6' from the edges. They had a tournament this day though, so maybe there is some logic to this that I'm unaware of in my 40 years of competitive level golf. Although since the putting green is basically shaped like a bowl, the types of putts you get to practice are very limited as a result. I hope it's not always set up like this. Regardless, I'm nitpicking at this point. I'll be back soon to the West, as long as the high season green fees max out as they currently are.
Still needs some attention
Greens were in really good shape besides people not fixing Ball marks. Around the greens is still really poor, way too many bare spots around the fridge and just off the greens. If you can play for 35-40$ I’d make the trip

You guys need to invest to cart girl accommodation and offering s
Really, really great track!
What a great track! First round here since 2013ish. It played better than I remember. Kudos to the maintenance crew!! Fairways are pretty generous landing areas. Greens are on the medium/large side but fairly underlying. The greens were just a bit slower than the practice and chipping greens today. But I noticed the potential to really get them rolling!!!! Again, kudos to the maintenance staff. Upon check-in, there was just a hint of arrogance in the air. But the course is a must to put this course in your rotation.
Only a few noticeabe negatives…
1. $10 for a small, warm up bucket has to be in the ridiculous category.
2. In Central Fl, golfers need more water stations/fountains on the course. I only saw the drink cart twice.
3. Golfers DO NOT fix their ball marks! If you want nice greens, do your part and fix your marks!! Goodness, people!! Stop being lazy and help the course staff. Be better!
Good value
Read several reviews that knocked the course condition and pace of play. Found the greens to be good. Fairways have some thin places and overall expect tight lies. We played mid-morning in just over 4 hours. For $49 in February it’s a very good value.
Great condition for the winter
Fairways are a bit spotty, but otherwise the course is in great shape.
Greens are really good.
Senior golfer
Should not allow players. To practice while holding groups up. Hitting two balls putting from different places on the green. 4:45 is a long round Not allowed at most courses
Course still needs work but like the GPS on the carts.
The course still is not where it used to be before it closed for 3 years. Greens were decent though but fairways are very light on grass and it’s still a little rough around the greens. It was an almost 5 hour round primarily due to a foursome in front of us who were very good golfers but decided to play a practice round or something with each hitting multiple balls and practicing bunker shots and putting all over the greens. Never have I played behind a group like that before. Did not seem to care they were holding people up behind them. Finally after 10 holes of this we called the pro shop and they said they would send a message out to them. It did seem to improve after that. All in all we would play this course again.
Stay Away
This was probably the worst course I have ever played in Central FL. The starter was disinterested and kept slipping friends of his in between groups with actual tee times. The course had very little grass on the fairways and tees. Spray painting the divot mix green isn’t grass. My group waited on every shot. We played 17 holes in 4 hours and 45 minutes. The group in front of us not slow they were ignorant about the rules of golf. They hit multiple shots and didn’t care that there was groups waiting behind them. There wasn’t a ranger to be found.
Great value for the $$$
Just looking for a course to take my wife without breaking the bank.
Got this on Golf Now for less $50.00 each.
