Great Day for Golf!
Solid course that winds it's way through suburbia. Fairways and greens were in good condition for this time of year.
Staff was welcoming and helpful to someone who hadn't picked up a club in 16 months.
Well worth the 3 hour round trip from up in the mountains. In fact I'll be back ASAP.
My favorite course
I go golfing about 1-3 times a year. I have introduced several friends to golf at this course. I usually bring my daughter because she enjoys all of the animals and the beautiful course. The staff is always friendly, the other golfers are always nice and courteous. I have been to all of the surrounding courses within 30 miles of Victorville and always come back here. I play to reconnect with family a friends and am not very good so having other friendly golfers and staff that is patient and pleasant is a big part of my experience. My friend was not sure he could get out of work until 3:40 so that would give us little over an hour to play, he was able to meet me at 2:30 so we went to go use the driving range. The staff allowed us to start as soon as we got there because it was not busy allowing us to almost complete 9 holes. I love this place, the people, and the facility. Highly recommend.
Thank you for the nice review and comments about Ashwood and staff. We appreciate your loyalty and sending golfers our direction. Look forward to seeing you again soon!
Lakes and dead areas around greens need help
Most of the lakes have stagnant water that stinks and looks like a swamp. The fees lakes that are decent and an abundance of fish. They need to re- distribute the fish to fix their nasty lakes.
A number of the greens have large dead or missing grass.
These things would make this average course more representative of a true Troon course.
Dan,
We appreciate you choosing to spend your day with us at Ashwood! Would like to take this opportunity to expand upon your concerns. We have a new course maintenance supervisor who we are excited to have join our team within the past month. He is working towards obtaining his aquatics license to improve the good health of our ponds, On the green health, we were challenged with fairy ring this season. This is in the plan to be treated going forward helping to improve the good health of our greens. The greens have shown much improvement already in these limited areas in the past two weeks, Your support of Ashwood is important to us and we look forward to seeing you again soon! Please call 760.240.1800 ext. 5 or e-mail jlake@ashwoodgolf..com at your convenience if you would like to discuss further.
Thank you,
Justin Lake

Greens are getting back on track. Overall good conditions.
Very well maintained and fun.
I have been golfing at this course for years and am always very happy with the conditions of this facility and the pace of play. The fairways and greens are always well-manicured. Although it is a short of course, it is fun. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and I appreciate the free golf tutoring on Saturdays for my son. Good job Ashwood!
Another amazing day!
I took my friend for his first time and we had a blast. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the course is always challenging and beautifully taken care of. The driving range and food is affordable and delicious. This will always be my favorite course in the High Desert by a long run. Cant wait to go back.
Fun course grumpy staff
The staff won’t help you much on the pro shop side. They seem like you’re bugging them. The girls by the food and beer were nice. Such a fun course and nice bathrooms.
Pace of play
This is a great course that could use a marshal. We played the front in 1 hour and 15 minutes and the back took almost 3 hours because as we made the turn a group of 5 and another group of 4 jumped in front of us.
This happens often on this course because there is no clear effort made to control where people start. In addition people at this course do not wait even when the course is stacked up. I like to play here I just wish there was a way to control the flow better.
Could be a great course!
Layout, pace of play and playability is good for all levels. Most bunkers were just rocks and significant bird droppings on most holes and greens. Constantly stepping in it and having to putt through it. If they could remedy those two things, it would be a great value.
Great round, great day
Not quite an executive course, not full sized. Good challenges, used every club in my bag. Greens were fast and rolled well. Bring a low bounce sand wedge you are not fond of, there are hidden stones in the hard packed bunkers.
Gr8 for ur short game
It was very nice on Sunday to play. The fairways n greens were nice to hit n putt off. Will b back
punched and sanded greens
I called the course on Oct2 to check the course conditions as i commute from palm desert. The pro shop employee told me all three courses will be punched and sanded by wed,Oct4. I have no idea how attentive the course workers are in getting the greens playable. This alert is for anyone thinking of playing so you don't show up and get upset that the greens are sanded. Great course for only having par 3 and par4.
Thank you for the nice review and comments about Ashwood and staff. Look forward to seeing you again very soon!
