Good Day of Golf
I played in the winter so the grass was not green. Greens were in good shape. Tee boxes were good. Noticeable work needed were carts have turned grass to dirt. Some maintenance in this area needs to be done to keep the course conditions from declining.
Love, Love, Love Ashwood courses
I play Ashwood courses twice a week and love all three courses. I like switching up courses as I play 18 holes. I will continue playing Ashwood courses as long as I live in the high desert.
Quick outting
Last minute round with my boys, course is in pretty good condition except for all the bird droppings on the greens. I have played here a few times but I've never seen so many droppings on the greens.
Fun in the morning
The course was in very good shape, the greens were just fight i could back up the ball on most of them. The regulars that play there are not very good at fixing the ball marks on the greens so I fixed plenty of them, to bad that has always been a problem on public courses. There is no need for a driver on most par fours you put the ball in the 60-70 yard range if you drive the hole. great short game course
Great play
The course is in fantastic condition. Not very long but still presents challenges. You have water on many hole, and 90% of them have green side bunkers to deal with. The greens are soft and slow for playing in the desert. Highly recommend playing he course.
great course
The course was in pretty good shape. Greens were good a bit on slow side but the ball rolled very well. Overall great experience can wait to play it again
Birch/ Sycamore
Overall great day of golfing. Did not give me course I paid for online but, I like all the courses anyway. Not a problem.
The perfect challenge
This course is great for intermediate players. It is long, wide open at times, with some challenging water obstacles. The greens were maintained and ran smooth. If you have a little bit of experience and are looking for a small challenge, this is the course to play.
Ashwood
It was a great morning to play golf with my son. The course was in good condition but the rate of play was very slow. We were scheduled to play sycamore and mesquite but we're told by the staff to play birch instead of sycamore because of the ladies club. Once we started on birch we were behind a very slow twosome that took approx 10 mins to look for a ball in the water. On the second hole they were just as slow. We pasted them to go to hole three where we found a foursome. Later we found two geoups of five playing on the same course. Because of time restraints we jumped around and missed several holes. It took us almost 4 hours to play 14 holes. I play this course a lot and really e hit it. The week before it took us 30 mins to get two hotdogs with two small bags of chips. That was 8 dollars. I heard from other who play there regularly that the company is raising prices on food and golf and cutting back on services. Too bad. It's a good ciurse
Very green course
Course was outstanding. Excellent conditions. Nice
ashwood is a great course
the course is in really good shape but there was men club and the hackers club . some of the guys in the hackers club were pretty rude when we got to the tee box . they did not like the fact that we were a twosome.
Going down hill
Ever since new management came in, the course is starting to go down hill. The sand traps don't get any attention. The staff isn't friendly. They have been watering while golfers are on the course. Tough to play when you have to hit your ball while trying to avoid the sprinklers. Time to find a new course to play at. I normally play this course once a week but that's changing going forward
Loved it
I loved the lay out of the driving range and the course!! We played at 8:20 am and finished 18 by 12:00!! I loved everything about the course, the fairways and the greens were perfect! If I had to say something bad about the place it would have to be the rocky sand traps!! I wasn't in them but my buddy was and he didn't like them!! I was in the fairway the whole time!! 2 thumbs up from me!! I am definitely playing here again!!!
In good shape
No water at any of the water stations. Carts are on their last legs, but other than that nice course
Great course for the value
Course was in great shape greens are immaculate No wind either and the ducks/geese were great to
Little upset
Went to play Father's Day with my brother we played here before and it's been laid back with the dress code. My brother should have a collar shirt on but it was a warm day and the last few times there's been others on the course with tank tops, so he thought it was ok at ashwood. But the young man behind the counter ask if we lived far cause he needed a collar shirt we live 30 mins away he told us he will let it slide this time but we need a collar shirt next time. We agreed apologized ask if we could get on course after we hit a bucket of balls, he said might not be able to get on cause of the tee times were booked up. After we hit our bucket of balls went in to see if we could play the young man went out to see if they had carts in which they did have approximately 15 carts in the garage. came back in and said we couldn't get on till 2 or 3 it was 1240 at this time we just left. The young man was vary unprofessional and needs some training in coustomer service
the long and short of it
the course was in pretty good shape over all with nice fairways and challenging greens the bunkers could use some real sand instead of the gravel that looks like the native desert dirt the course was a little short for my liking made shorter by the fact that I was playing the white tees with a group of beginners but there were some holes with water that needed to be carried its a good course for beginners and experienced players.
Great Course
Very clean well kept no waiting. Plays well with plenty of challenges good course to play low scores on. Pretty much every hole is birdie-able.
Ashwood Experience
I took my girlfriend and our daughter to Ashwood and we had a blast. We are all first timers and had no idea what we were doing but that didnt stop us from having lots of fun. The course was beautiful and easy to follow. Wonderful staff and all. Going back for seconds definitely!
conditions
Conditions are great, greens are fast, fairways are consistent, pace of play was good overall great round.
I agree with you 100%, I have been playing 2 other courses in the high desert, Apple Valley , and Hesperia, I played Green Tree only once, At my age the other courses are too long for me, I do enjoy playing them , but it is disappointing to take 3 to get on the green every time, After playing Ashwood for the first time a couple of weeks ago , I want to make it my home course, and want to play it as often as I can. It might be a short course but it is very challenging. With the draught in CA. and the end of the summer season, I thought the course was in very good condition, and the staff was very friendly.
