Located in Ave Maria, Panther Run Golf Club is less than 30 minutes from Naples but it has a much more secluded feel. The course was built with a strong dedication to preserving the landscape's beautiful natural features and significant environmental resources, even as residences started being developed. An abundance of lakes and waterways characterizes the golf course, all of which are filled with alligators and other native wildlife. It is nearly impossible to play a round without spotting a gator. In addition to the 13 holes with water, there are more than 60 bunkers strategically placed throughout. The challenges are balanced by generous greens and wide-open, player-friendly fairways. Panther Run G.C. also boasts an expansive practice facility that includes five practice greens, a short game area with two sand bunkers, and an aqua driving range.

Hidden Gem at Panther Run

Superb course 40 minutes North of Naples. I thought the reviews were good before I played, but the course was so much more! The staff was excellent from the bag drop, to the pro shop, starter and on-course cart person. The conditions of the course was phenomenal. Tee boxes were perfect, the fairways were firm, the rough was what it was supposed to be - rough, greens were firm and fast, sand in the bunkers were soft and consistent. The practice area was really nice with a large putting greens and two practice short game greens. Nice mix of challenging holes and a couple of holes to catch your breath. Homes were on the course but never in play. I saw numerous gators which made the day even better. Do yourself a favor and play Panther Run, you won't regret it.

Out of 5 courses we played, Panther Run was definitely our favorite. This is a scenic course that's in great condition. Exceptional practice facility, really nice bar/restaurant looking over 18th green. Staff is friendly and professional.

Despite its remote location, my experience at this golf course was disappointing. After calling ahead due to traffic delays for our 1:30 tee time, we were still left behind. Arriving just two minutes late (we were in the tee box at 1:32), the starter had already sent off the other two members of our group. We had to skip the first two holes, which were oddly empty, to catch up. Unfortunately, the experience was further marred by a hotdog that led to severe food poisoning, necessitating a hospital visit. This visit was far from the relaxing day of golf I had anticipated.
