About
Atypical of many Florida golf courses, RedTail Golf Club is a links-style layout dotted with 100-year-old oak trees and azaleas among its rolling green fairways. Designed by Dave Harman, who also did Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, the course features four lakes with water coming into play on the last five holes. Holes 14-18 work their way around the largest lake on the course, while the finishing hole's approach shot plays over another body of water in front of the clubhouse. Located in rural Sorrento a little more than a half hour north of Orlando, RedTail Golf Club prides itself on catering to "members only."

Golfer Reviews
Traps and tee boxes need to be continually worked on .
Course Coming Back
This was one of my favorite courses in my 20mile area that I play. It has a good variety of twist and turns. But when they lost the pump system they lost much of everything. It is coming back. The greens look good and played well and the fairways are looking better then they did 5 months ago. I would play again
Looking great, in a great shape
I came out here for Black Friday with relatives and we enjoyed playing here, course is in nice shape, tee box, green, fairways good. Also carts were very comfortable Will come back again
Great improvements!
I haven’t played this course in a few months because of the issues they were having. I can say I am very excited to come back. It’s clear that the course is listening to its customers because the course looks so much better. The new tee boxes, reseeded fairways and greens are healing great. I think Redtail is beginning to return to its shape it was when I first played it back in 2011.
Course is seeded with rye grass. Looking sharp
Offered at very cheap price compared to elsewhere. It had some problem before because of the irrigation pump but it's back now with over-seed. Will become better as rye grass gets thicker. Will be coming back again soon
Temporarily rough
Currently a bit rough. Had to play the front 9 twice, due to scheduled course maintenance and overseeding. I'm sure when they're finished it will be back to their usual standards.
Complete trash
I am not one to rate a course bad. There have been lots of bad reviews I’ve read in lots of courses and then played them since I’m not picky and didn’t agree. I should have listened to the reviews this time. This course is in such bad shape that it needs to be closed down and redone. I honestly don’t know how else it is going to recover. The greens were unputtable and sand traps were a mess
Course in terrible condition
Course needs a lot of work to restore it to its original condition
Cart Path Only and only 1st 9
I made my reservation and when I got to the course, I was promptly informed it was cart path only and only the front 9. This was not listed on your web site but according to the person at the desk, it was listed on places like Facebook and other places where I do not use. I definitely would not have come . I was later informed the course was under default.
A shame, such a nice layout.
NEVER AGAIN
On a scale of 1 to 10 the condition of this “former golf course” a 0 !!!
From the tees to the fairway to the weeds ( formerly the greens) it was painful to play the front nine. More than five years ago this was a very good golf course. Today it was painful attempting to play the front nine. Golf Now and Tee Off should not offer unplayable golf courses.
What's happened to this course
5-6 years ago this course was my favorite course in the Orlando area.
It is now so bad I didn't even use free green fees I had won at a tournament there!
Glad the tournament is being moved from there. Only good thing there is the food.
You can guess what is going on there as the green fees have gone down a lot. Was told 2 years ago improvements were going to be made. Instead it has gone to pot. Someone needs to read the reviews done lately . Nearly all say the course is nearly unplayable!
Redtail Golf Course
This course is in terribly bad shape.
Golf Club not achieving its potential and its past
Glory..
Not worth your time
Course was in the worst condition I have ever seen. Tee boxes were mostly dirt. Fairways not cut & full of weeds. Greens were horrible & very bumpy. Not worth your time, many improvements need to be made. A terrible shame since this used to be one of my favorite courses.
Poor condition
I've been wanting to play this course for a long time and when I got the chance to get s good deal all I could do is grab it. I was all excited to play and when I got there I was ready to enjoy a beautiful day golfing only too be extremely disappointed. The course was out of in very poor condition. The fairways are anytime but fair. The greens are more like a pale shade of brown. Even the sandtraps are in bad shape with grass growing in them and hard as cement. It was truly s disappointment.
Course in bad shape
Most tees have very little grass and the fairways are also in rough shape. Greens have a lot of sand spots coming through and clumps of what looks like crab grass. Very hard to putt. I played here two years ago and it was really nice.
Sad, just sad
Very disappointed. This used to be a premium course and I considered it a treat if I wanted to play somewhere really nice. Beautiful layout, beautiful entry to the place, and beautiful homes. I just can't see how it's been let go so bad. Guy at the desk said it's coming back...I doubt it. Said besides not having hardly any rain, the water pumps were not operational for 18 weeks. Should have been a priority if that's the case. But honestly, it lacks more than water. Fire the management and make a decision to get this once awesome course back in shape or just submit to defeat and make room for the weekly 1,500 migrants moving to Florida by making use out of the wasted space. Sorry, I usually don't bother with writing bad reviews but Redtail needs a wake up call.
