About
Atypical of many Florida golf courses, RedTail Golf Club is a links-style layout dotted with 100-year-old oak trees and azaleas among its rolling green fairways. Designed by Dave Harman, who also did Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, the course features four lakes with water coming into play on the last five holes. Holes 14-18 work their way around the largest lake on the course, while the finishing hole's approach shot plays over another body of water in front of the clubhouse. Located in rural Sorrento a little more than a half hour north of Orlando, RedTail Golf Club prides itself on catering to "members only."

Golfer Reviews
Horrible shape
The tee boxes were awful, the greens had more weeds than grass and the fairways were barely grass.
Absolutely horrible
The course had no green grass and nothing on the fairways except weeds. It was really unplayable.
Beautiful course that's in horrible condition
This is a beautiful golf course that is I'm horrible condition. The staff was great. Some TLC on the range and course would make this first class venue.
A Good Value
I found Red Tail to be a good value for what appears to be a strong and steady effort toward improving course conditions.
a few of the greens and fairways were in not great shape. The bunkers were wet sand, from the rain, but 48.00 for 2 players was not bad. I would play it again.
Greens were rough.
Have played here numerous times. Course seems to be going in the wrong direction. Fairways and greens were not good
Course conditions
The course isn’t in the best of shape. A lot of tee boxes are dirt with some patches of grass. Fairway are decent. About 40% of the greens in good shape. Greens and tee boxes need some help. Nice clubhouse. Nice pro shop. Friendly cart girl. Staff is very friendly.
No Up-keep
Overall terrible condition. It seems as if the neighborhood teenagers have taken this place over. Greens are mostly unplayable, fairways are like the rough. The rough is like 8 inches of thick thick grass so good luck finding that ball. Having to drop a ball because you hit your drive 1 foot off of the fairway into the rough is just not acceptable. $1 per hole is too much to pay for these conditions. Beautifully designed but just poorly kept course. Will not be back until I see some consistent reviews stating that things have changed.
They’ve Given Up
It appears as though they’ve given up on this course. The greens were horrible as were the fairways too. This used to be such a great golfing experience, but I won’t be going back.
Very sad to see the course get this way!
I have played this course a good dozen times. I hadn’t been out in several months, went out last weekend & I couldn’t believe my eyes! This is a good solid track & it’s gone from lively to 1 star conditions. I sincerely hope they can turn it around, very sad to see the course get this way!
Iffy
Greens in horrible shape. We took 2 putts most of the time. Fairways not great. Like the layout but wouldn’t play there again anytime soon
COURSE NOT IN GOOD SHAPE AT ALL !
LOVE TO PLAY REDTAIL ! BUT MANAGEMENT IS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO CATCH UP ! 🏌️
What Happened to this course?
I don't know what happened to this course. It is absolutely horrible. It is getting very little maintenance. The only thing green out there are the weeds. What a shame.
Player
My wife and I haven’t played at Red Tail Golf Course in about three maybe four years. When we drove up to drop off our golfing bags the course looked beautiful, but when we walked onto tee box of hole #1 my wife and I couldn’t believe our eyes. The course looked like it hadn’t been mowed or treated for weeds for weeks and the greens were terrible as well. I know I booked the tee time on Golf Now, but when we arrived at pro shop worker or the starter should have said something. There were a couple of holes that were beautiful and nicely maintained, but the overall course condition wasn’t worth $25.00 a person. Just my opinion.
STAY AWAY!!!!
Once a beautiful course now it's unplayable. The T box are muddy, the fairways are like the rough and the greens are so bad you can't even putt in a straight line. The sand bunker is now filled with dirt/mud. STAY FAR AWAY from this course. My foursome did not finish 18 holes because some holes are so bad that its unplayable. I give this course months before it's shut down for business.
How bad can it be…
It’s been about 6 years since the last time I played Redtail and from what I remember it was pretty decent. Found a hotdeal for yesterday and disappointedly shocking when we got to the 1st tee box. Extremely poor conditions from the tee box to the horrendous greens. Couldn’t even tell you were on the fairway since it looked as bad as the rough. Such a letdown. Hopefully they can turn things around because it’s not a pretty site!
