RedTail Golf Club
About
Atypical of many Florida golf courses, RedTail Golf Club is a links-style layout dotted with 100-year-old oak trees and azaleas among its rolling green fairways. Designed by Dave Harman, who also did Shingle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, the course features four lakes with water coming into play on the last five holes. Holes 14-18 work their way around the largest lake on the course, while the finishing hole's approach shot plays over another body of water in front of the clubhouse. Located in rural Sorrento a little more than a half hour north of Orlando, RedTail Golf Club prides itself on catering to "members only."

Great layout
Can’t go wrong. Some fairway and green need help but overall can’t complain.
Course in good shape but....
some of the greens need some work and there are water hazards that were not there the last time I played, I assume the water is the result of runoff from all the new building going on so you will need to keep the ball straight on those holes. Challenging course from the back tees.
Good Long Day
I guess we are now experiencing the beginning of the snow bird season. We had to wait on every tee for at least 5 minutes or more. However, the course was in good condition even with the usual casual water on some of the holes. This was what I call a good long day of golf close to 5 hours. Probably could have had a Marshall on Tuesday to help with the pace of play.
Greens aren't bad
The greens aren't as bad as people are making them out to be. They were bad in the spring/early summer. Grass was thin in some places on the greens, but completely playable. Still the best course in that area. Certainly better than paying that a-hole at black bear. Course layout was great, was great, fairways were good. Greens weren't perfect, but very playable. Good time as always at Redtail
Great place overall to spend an afternoon on the course.....friendly people, nice patio,bar......great golf course
Solid Round
I always enjoy this course. It’s a great layout and I hope they get the greens back soon. There were quite a few spots on the greens but you can see the course taking the necessary steps to fix the areas affected.
TLC Needed Before Replay
It could be an amazing course if they took care of it. The layout is amazing! The front 9 is in better shape than the back. The greens are really diseased on the back. And they are slooooow. The bunkers, for the most part, are not sand. They are a soft, playable dirt. The cart was old, but moved well. No GPS, but it did have USB. I didn’t use the practice facilities. I don’t think l would drive 45 minutes again to play. And l can’t recommend it in its current condition.
Horrible greens
They continue to fail to maintain the greens here. Certainly not worth the money. I won’t return for a long time.
Krr
Nice course, didn’t rate 5 stars as some of the greens have a fungus that has killed the grass. They are in the process of repairing them.
Good course, tough layout
Played here for the first time 10/31/21. Course is in pretty good shape, tee boxes were in great condition, fairways pretty good, greens were pretty fair. Some holes had some dead spots on the greens but overall worth playing and will return.
Green were slow
Course was in better shape than when i played it in spring. Greens looked good but were very slow.
Recommend with Caveat
Course is a challenge but fun to play. Greens were ok and fairway needed some TLC as well. The main thing that was concerning is when the starter held us up for five minutes to allow members that were finishing up on 18 to come through us; unsatisfactory to say the least.
Do Not Play Here
Course was Not in good shape. Way overpriced, it doesn’t look like they put any money into this course.. Not like it used to be...
- Greens were VERY slow and showed a lot of bare spots and lacked grass
- Fairways were either dried up and brown or soaked
- Golf carts are raggedy and brakes didn't work for both carts in my group
bunkers and tee boxes were good
Great Course, Needs a Little Love
I love this course and try to play it when it’s open to the public.A few of the greens have gotten away from them, but it’s overall still in very good shape. I don’t understand how a Course cannot allow outside alcohol, not sell alcohol in the pro shop and not have a beer cart.
Not the Redtail I'm used to.
Greens were not good. Bare spots, rough areas. Need a lot of work. Tee boxes okay, but second cut on fairways not the greatest. Bermuda was too deep for recreational golfers. Had to walk directly over you ball to see it. Really tough to hit out of it.
Good course!
If you like a golf course that provides a challenge at a good price then this might be the course for you
Rangers??? Hello
Overall nice course. Lots of undulations on the fairways. Never had so many lies with the ball above or below my feet. I enjoyed the variety of shots required to excel here. My big complaint was having to wait 5-10 minutes on every hole, but two because of slow play. Course was completely backed up for at least three groups ahead. This is unacceptable. The course was well maintained except for a few scabby areas on some greens and fairways. Also, more water stations would be nice.
