About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Terrific Day
Blustery conditions but we did get the wind at our back on about 7 holes. Course played great from tee green. Greens were super slick with false fronts and difficult reads. Definitely a challenge. Its a course you can’t overpower and take your lumps. The staff is a great group of guys and willing to accommodate your requests.
Had a great day and will back out next week.
I Luv Eagle Dunes
I go into check-in & the guy calls me by name (I play here maybe twice a year ----live in Ohio), the starter pairs my 2some up with another to get out about 1/2hr early ........on this beautiful 85* mid-day. The 1st Tee downhill to rolling fairway is awesome, looks like you can hit it a mile, but this old guy maybe goes 230yrds. Fairways are a bit hard & "tight" (meaning sparse of grass, but not as bad as others in Central Fla) .......but Greens are always good2great here ---good speed, holding good shots, & true. That's not to say they're not a few nasties --#4, 10 if back upper-tier cup, #12 with valley in middle, 17 with false front. #10 is a great hole, and 18 a good finisher par5. I'm biased cuz I love Eagle Dunes because of elevation changes and the diversity of holes (not flat like most of Central Fla & not a corn-row layout like I'm familiar with in Ohio). Our paired 2some were a lot of fun, thus we had enjoyable day, and Thanx to GN for the Hot Deals. I'll be back ---I try to play here anytime I visit Orlando ........and now easy travel via 429.

Windy day on the Dunes
Great pace of play, less than 4 hours for a foursome no waiting. Greens were true and good speed. Fareways were a little thin.

Ok at best
It’s a 3 star place really 2.5 stars. The only thing decent part of the course were the greens. The fairways were torn up and mostly mixed of dirt and weeds. The greens were in good shape above average I would say, but the fairways and constantly bumping around in the carts was too much to look past. The layout was cool in spots mostly due to the elevation changes. Left this review because if I saw this I wouldn’t have picked it over a ton of place for $20-$40 bucks more for the round…

Needs a maintenance crew!
Staff was great, conditions are brutal. Greens are fairly solid, minus the fact that players don’t seem to fix their ball marks. Fairways and rough were in need of desperate help. Driving range even worse. Pace of play was the worst part, no Marshall on duty and a 5+ hour pace of play made for a frustrating round. Could be a really great track with the right ownership and maintenance.

Long day. Fair playing conditions
5 hour round made for a long day. Waiting on every hole, no ranger in sight. Course is in ok shape. Typical for Florida this time of year, but the rates aren’t reflecting it. Best thing about the day was the starter. Real nice guy. Hopefully will get better for the summer and the rates drop some. These courses are taking advantage of inflation.

Great Challenge
The wind effected every shot you made. Club selection was very important. The course played very nicely from tee to green. The fairways gave you plenty of rollout. The rough not so much. The greens were very slick and placement of the pins on some holes were pretty tough. The staff is super here and makes this course my favorite in the area. I will be back soon!

Eagle Dunes - No etiquette means no fun
My husband and I golfed as a twosome at Eagle Dunes and the pace of play on the front nine was good. When we made the turn, a foursome of lady members (who had apparently teed off two groups ahead of us) cut in ahead of us. From the tenth hole on, we waited on every. single. shot. Firstly, proper golf etiquette is that if you go into the clubhouse during the turn, you return to the 10th hole only when you are not interrupting the flow of the party moving from the 9th to 10th holes. Secondly, slower groups are supposed to let faster groups play through. That is basic golf etiquette. When my husband complained to the starter, he didn’t see a problem as the foursome had an earlier tee time. Sad to see lack of common courtesy.

Nice course
Have played here before. Some really tough holes. Sometimes paces is slow. Wish there was a ranger. Would play there more but they have jumped prices too much. Like playing here.

The course has great potential
I found the greens very good. I played here 4yrs ago and 2 things havnt changed.....the fairways are for the most part poor and the pace of play is extremely slow.

Very slow play
5 plus hour round. Waited on every shot. Fairways are getting better and traps have been worked on since last time I played a few weeks ago. Greens were a bit slower than usual.

Disappointment
We have been playing at Eagle Dunes for more than 12 years. This was the worst condition I have ever seen the course in. The fairways, rough, driving range. and tee boxes are in horrendous shape. We will not be playing there again in the near future. Very disappointing since it was one of our favorite courses in town.

Greens Tip Top
Course was in good shape from tee to green. The tee boxes and greens were exceptional. Plenty of were being done on the course.
There are SOME WASTE AREAS YOU HAVE TO CARRY. Keep that in mind. Had a great day. They staff is always tremendously helpful and accommodating. I’ll be back soon.

Horrible horrible fairways and pace of play.
Everyone already knows about the historical slow pace of play for some reason at this course. But the fairways, my god. Some od the worst fairway conditions that I’ve seen in central Florida. I’m mean, really rally bad. I won’t be playing here again for a long time. And for what they charge, it’s a joke. Too many other options on the area. Stay away.

I think timing is everything.....
played this course many, many times over the years - the greens are good, fairways are in transition but not horrible.
Staff is awesome - but they need a ranger. We played the front nine twice because the back nine was backed up BIG starting on the 10th tee. The group ahead of us were ok tee to green....but I think they thought they were professionals when it comes to putting ....every green took forever (maybe they were betting big!).
