About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Greens Amazing; Fairways not so much.
For central Florida, Eagle Dunes would probably be at the top of my list as a go-to course. As the title says, the greens are very good, albeit also very fast. Takes some adjustment there. Fairways on some holes are not so good; hopefully the summer rains will bring them around a bit. Rough is really "rough".

Poor pin placement
All was fine except for the pin placement on 3 holes. Even the PGA players don't ;have to putt at pins sitting on the edge of a plateau, ridiculous!!!

Tee boxes and waste areas a bit rough, fairways and greens good, so stay on the fairway and putt with caution cuze they be fast.

Great greens
Greens were excellent. Better than Vic Hills or place played near Sarasota. Pace was great—under 4 hrs

Nice Greens for a Basic Muni Level Course
The course is average with great greens. The tee boxes, fairways and rough are what you would expect in a decent muni course. It's not bad, but there is no way to rate this course above or even near some of the spectacular courses in the greater Orlando area.
Some things that could be improved.
Bunkers - Hard pan. Need raked.
Distance Markers - Nothing in the Tee Boxes. If you don't have a golf watch. Just Guess or go off the card and hope the distance is correct.
Fairways - Invasive Grass but okay.
Tee Boxes - can use a little work.
Overall Fit and Finish - This is NOT a resort course.
Again, not a surprise for a muni-style course. Just don't believe some of these reviews that call it the best course in the area. It's not, but it's decent.

The pace is always bad
I always get frustrated with the pace at this golf course. Every once in a while I give it another try only to regret coming again.
This time, we had a foursome + a child playing ahead of us. There were 2-3 groups backed up behind them including us. We called for the ranger twice but no one came. Finally, they let us play through on hole 13. We were on 16 tee box by the time they played 14.
For the price, the course conditions and pace makes it not worth playing.
