About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Eagle Dunes is fun track --not typical Central Fla
Eagle Dunes has great elevation changes: #1 & 10 looks like you can hit a mile downhill. Pick the right set of tees to suit your game, and have fun on this challenging layout. Our group started on the back9 this day, and it just didn't seem right playing 16-18 with 9more to play. The greens at Eagle Dunes are awesome ......I would match them up to the more expensive clubs, even Private Clubs. Which brings us to another point, Eagle Dunes (Sorrento, north of Orlando but on other side of Wekiva woods) is not easy to get to, and make no mistake, this is not a $100 Disney course, but if you want a fun layout at great rates, I highly recommend........

The layout here is nice. The par 5s are reachable for the long hitters. Not me.
Greens were in good conditions, fairways were a little sparse due to the time of year. Definitely play here again

Pack your Patience for this Course!
Although it was President's Day, the tee time was running 20 to 30 minutes behind. Initially, there were no carts available to use 20 minutes prior to our start time. We had to wait for that as well. The greens were in reasonable shape considering this is the beginning of spring. However, into the game, we had to wait 15 minutes at each hole for the group ahead to finish, resulting in us between the start delay and hole delays having to complete our game after only 11 holes when we had paid for 18. A course Ranger would possibly have assisted in preventing these constant backups. I did however manage a Birdie on a Par 3!

Slow slow slow
I love playing this course. It is good value for the money. But this year and particularly yesterday the play was too slow….over 5 hrs. The previous 3 times in the last month I have played here the tee times were a little late and play was 4.5 hrs but a fairly sealable 4.5 hrs. Yesterday, there was a group of men who travel from course to course that had booked 4 tee times and 6 groups showed up. Someone made the decision to let them out. My tee time was 12:32. Didnt tee off until almost 1. Stuck in a twosome. And did not get off course until 5:45.
Yes, it was a holiday. Yes, courses need to make money. But maybe tee times need to be a little spacious to accommodate use of the facility

Challenging course
I’ve played Eagle Dunes a handful of times and it always challenges me to think about the shots I take. I always enjoy the round though. The course was very busy at our tee time and we did have to wait to tee off on most holes. Part of the wait was the foursome in front of us weren’t playing ready golf. I’ll return in the future!

Slow play
Waited on every hole. Course conditions were ok. Greens slower than in the past. Many bunkers washed out and no rakes anywhere to be found.

Course was ok
The staff was very friendly and the course layout was fun. Getting to play on a Hot Deal made the price right. Pace of play was slow and course had lots of bare spots, however, I will say both are very common this time of year.

Interesting golf course
This course is located about 40 minutes from central Orlando. It's worth the ride if you want a value.

Pace of play was extremely slow..the group in front of us played very slow and did not seem to try to play faster..
