Always an enjoyable round of golf.
This is a very enjoyable course that always seems to be in great shape.
Very nice and fast greens, very nice fairways, bunkers and most tees.
They need to solve the range issue as they will not give you a cart until the moment of your tee time and it takes at least 10 minutes to walk to the range plus 10 minutes back which makes impossible to hit balls before your round unless you arrive at least 45 minutes before your tee time. That does not take into account that you have to carry your bag both ways.
Always in great shape. A fun course to play.
This is a great course that is fun to play and always in great shape. The only problem this course has is that they do not give you a cart until your tee time making it difficult to use the range as they expect for you to walk there with your clubs and that is probably 400 yards from the pro shop. So going and coming back takes at least 20 minutes. It truly does not make sense to have a range and penalize its users.
Best greens I’ve played yet this summer in Florida!
We play everywhere in Florida and these greens are unbelievable. The course is nice, had a good time.
A truly enjoyable golf course!
Fun course to play in great conditions. Difficult to find a better maintained public access course and much less at that price.
It is not too long but it is not short either with short holes having small greens to compensate.
I always enjoy laying this course.
GREAT PLACE
GOOD COURSE, GOOD STAFF. GREAT DEAL RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE
Great coarse
Played a early round today. Pace of play was a little slkw but overall it was a great outing. The coarse was in great shape from tee box to greens which were in awesome shape. Great bang for your buck.
Margate Landmark
Hidden jewel nestled in nondescript, Margate neighborhood, Oriole was a superbly-conditioned track that was pretty wide open, save for its signature No. 9 Par 5 whose green was nearly surrounded by water. Fairways and bunkers were in splendid shape as I scooted through a solo round in barely over two hours. Tricky pin placement on greens that were razor cut provided numerous putting adventures. On a typically sweltering afternoon, friendly beverage cart service was most appreciated. This most enjoyable round was capped by a boisterous visit to the course bar that easily is one of the friendliest in South Florida. Pro shop and cart attendant were convivial. Twenty-two dollars very well spent.
Consistent course
This course is always consistent in quality. Fairways and greens are in good shape year round. Layout is diverse and a lot of birdie holes.
Great value for money
Always enjoy Oriole. Easy, short course, but greens run nicely and value for money is excellent. Bar is also solid. Course was nice and quiet, 4.5 hour round, but that included a 3-minute weather delay.
Nice course to work on your short game
Played on an overcast day with rain expected, as such the course was fairly empty. The greens were recovering from being aerated hence putting was uneven. The course lacks signage to the holes. Not much of a challenge if you're straight off the tees. However it's nice to work on the short game. Played from the tips and found it ok. The cart girl and bag lad were friendly. The pro shop staff seemed indifferent. No one was on the course but they would not allow us out until 10 minutes before our tee time! Wouldn't pay much more than the GolfNow deal offered at $17 tax incl.
Good layout, but not without a few problems!
I enjoyed the layout. Even from the tips the distance is manageable for mid to low handicappers. My pet peeve is always the quality of the tee box. Nearly every tee box was pretty beat up and/or was sloped. At least for me that affects good footing and proper balance.
The greens were great. The fairways were in good shape, but the rough, was rough. Not tall grass and shrubs, but weeds or dirt. Very difficult ptiching/chipping on many of the holes.
Overall a good value for the money. A little cleanup and this course would be a gem.
Fun
Had amazing time at the course , god greens & fireways as well .
What a pleasant surprise!!!
I have been playing the other local Coral Springs/Margate courses, and played Oriole this past Wednesday. I am a 4-6 handicap and consider myself a golf snob. Forget the fact that I only paid $15.00 to play. This is a fantastic municipal golf course. The greens are in the best shape of any course I have played in a while, the fairways are plush and green, and you get a sense that the people there care about the place. The staff is extremely friendly and they have great deals on food and drinks. It has an old school feel to it! I highly recommend it for a fun round of golf on a great municipal course.
First round at this course
One of the best deals around. Course in descent shape and greens terrific.
Still Decent
Have played this course for years. Always a decent round.
Greens do get a bit slow from time to time but overall great for the money.
All employees are friendly and helpful.
If you need to sneak out fast, they can usually get you out.
Greens slow due to grass too high. Fairway grass was good.
