Great course with the best greens
Overall excellent, good pace of play, great greens, well managed course.
Too much
Beautiful course, great layout. Problem is, they're way over their head with the prices they charge. It seems these Semi-Private courses are confused between country club rates and public rates. I'd love to play there more often, yet their greens fees keep me away.
This course is very challenging.
Course has 3 nine hole sections, narrow fairways & holes that require straight shots with layups. Greens were in good shape & fairways were maintained.
Really enjoyed my round
Great combination of challenging holes with fun hole, greens were rolling great, course condition was good for the time of year.
beautiful and challenge course to play
pretty challenge and fun course. Bring more balls.
Moorpark
One of the best public courses in LA. A hidden gem
Beautiful Course
27 holes, great condition, good pace of play. Expensive unless you can find a hot deal!
Fairways & greens are great.
My buddy and me were joined by 2 golfers that had never played here before and we easily played it in 4 hours. The greens were fast but true to their read. The fairways were fantastic as always. All the staff were very pleasant and make you feel like a member here. I try and play here whenever I can.
The way golf should be played
Everything about this course is first class and it is a fun layout to play. The course is very well maintained, probably one of the nicest public courses around. Each of the three nine hole layouts are nice although I do prefer the Ridgeline and Creekside layouts. It can be a challenging course for a high handicap player or if you are having trouble off the tee. Definitely bring some balls if you have trouble keeping it straight. I play from the whites and it is not that long, but even from the blues there are only a few holes where you need to be long off the tee to have a chance at a GIR. Far more important to just keep it in the fairway here as an errant shot could be a lost ball.
The only negative that I have noticed when I am here is there seems to be a disdain for the public players from the some of members of the course. There is a definite separation between the members and the public players, and that is fine, but it seems that some members take this as a right to be rude or inconsiderate to public players on the course. If a course is going to be open to the public, the members need to understand that. More importantly if a course is going to be on golfnow with reduced rates it is because it is financially beneficial for that golf course and the members should also understand that. If they don't want public or golfnow play, I am sure they can all pay higher dues. I will say the staff has always been great when I have been here.
this is my favorite course 27 fun holes
if you want a great course for the money.. this is it... tricky and fun but you can score on this... high handicappers beware.. there is a 660 par 5 that will eat you alive.. it is downhill but tough to par... highly recommend this course... all around fun day of golf...
Always a great course
Having 3 executive 9 holes courses allows MCC to have one course down for maintenance while the other 2 on being played on, the quality of the course is great with elevated tee boxes with views for miles around. We could even see the Chanel Islands from a couple of holes. The fairways are well maintained & the greens are amazing. They feel more like carpet than grass. The pro shop & restaurant are well staffed with friendly people. This is a must play course for anyone in the area.
Pricey but worth playing
Friendly staff and great amenities. The course is tough but fair with enough risk/reward for just about any player. Greens are well maintained but get lightening fast in dry hot weather.
Best course in the area!
This course is the best in the area and may be pricey at times, it's well worth the extra $$$.
Target Golf
This course is amazing! You don't have to be too long off the tee you just need to be accurate and smart. I'm a 5 handicap and ended up +12 because I didn't know the course but mostly because I was going all out and hitting big drivers when a smooth 3 wood would be the play. Awesome greens! My only gripe was the course was a bit wet in some spots where I had to take casual water and had two plugged balls on greenside fringe (two shots that should have one hopped and cozied up to the pin. Overall A+
The course was well maintained, great greens, and sand traps had nice sand.
Enjoyed playing the course because it played at different elevations and had a great layout. I will play again when I am back in the area visiting my son.
THE COURSE ROCKS!!!!!
Telling all of my friends to job on this band wagon!!!
I expected a more interesting layout
The staff is awesome but the course is not all that. I hate to say and wish I concurred with all the 5 star reviews. Still a fun track to play.
The cource is allways fun
The greens were not in normal shape ,we did not no till we were out on the cource. It would be nice to have this at time of booking .
beautiful terrain
the terrain is beautiful... elevation changes made it fun... playing with a member helped immensely because club selection and shot direction were often not obvious to a newcomer
