Franklin Canyon Golf Course

We used to love golfing this course as its location is beautiful and the course layout is challenging. But today, the course is nothing of what it used to be. The fairways are not existent. Pretty much a dirt track and what green there is is tight and spotty. The tee boxes are totally torn up and unleveled. The putting greens are totally inconsistent and need some rolling and love. We won’t be back. Definitely not worth the money!

We didn’t have a bad time. Greens were nice, pace was great, but fairways had a lot of debris and course layout overall was not the greatest. The cart paths were super bumpy and need a repair. Probably wouldn’t come back.

Had another good time. Paired with a single I played with before.

Course is solid. Plenty of challenge and lots of places to feel like a hero.

Subtle putts that I cant read..still , but no one's fault.

Hilly, with some narrow fairways. Long drives often needed to reach fairway drive second shots. Bring a couple ball colors as varied conditions and tall side grass can hide your misplaced shots easy.

Unfortunately I prepaid for a foursome and one didn’t show. No credit or refund offered. I thought I was just putting a credit card down to hold 4 spots.. live and learn. I’m out $77. I was hoping on a course credit.

Franklin is in great shape. The front 9 was being mowed behind us, but played great.

Greens are always nice.

Great staff and improving conditions and experience.

I’ve now played Franklin Canyon 5+ times and it’s truly a one of a kind find. Tee times are usually abundant, it’s cheap, easy to walk, well maintained and an interesting enough layout. Even better, they have some amazing food and one of the better chicken Caesar wraps you’ll find at a course. This place is a hidden gem.

It will be very nice to control the pace of golfers they take a long time to keep regulations of play .

Adam and Franklin Canyon are improving course conditions. Airaded greens and improving bunker conditions. I got a Hole In One hole 4 on 3/22. Fun course to play.

Haven’t played here in 5or 6 years. Condition of course surprisingly good. Glad to find it still open with all 18. Some tees on par 3s reduced to dirt which seems to be an epidemic in East Bay public courses excellent greens some with challenging slope. Not long by modern standards But will challenge even the low hcp.

A 5 hour round on a Monday at 1pm is ridiculous. No marshals on weekdays is understandable at times but it makes for a long a frustrating day when the pace is so slow.

This is a mature course with lovely holes and magnificent trees. It seems someone thinks it ought to be an RV park. Bosh. It is a good local golf course, which has nurtured and entertained generations of golfers. The RV scheme will despoil the land and water, and ruin a local landmark.
