About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Golfer Reviews
Course good, but be wary of the security levels
Played recently and found out at the gate that they are not accepting MWR guests due to a heightened security level. I had no way of knowing this ahead of time so that was pretty frustrating. Fortunately I was playing with someone who did have base access so I was able to get in after all. May avoid this course going forward just so I don't have to deal with that.
Definitely need a ranger
Definitely need someone to go around and remind people to speed up. There’s always a group that ends up with three or four holes open in front of them and nobody says anything to them.
Winter conditions
I play Windy Harbor frequently. Pace is usually good and the value is good as well. Greens have become the hidden secret when it comes to the challenge of play.
JAN25 Review
Overall, the course was in good shape; the greens were speedy and in good condition. The pace of play on most days is very slow. It puts most surrounding public courses to shame with pricing and maintenance.
Solid Course
Course is in good shape considering the wintry conditions.
Navy wasted millions of taxpayer dollars on this course :(
I have played many times here but just getting around to writing a review.
The Navy spent millions on renovating this course. I was very displeased with the reopening. The greens were still airated. I used to live in base so I would play quite frequently.
Used to be ok but now they stack the tee times on top of each other. Definitely not the course if you want to just play you and a friend. They will pair you up with random and then tell you that you have to stay with them.
When you ask the staff about it they just say yes or no and then shoulder shrug.
Since moving off base I will not be coming back to this place.
0/10 don’t recommend.
Great course
Went on a cold day and very windy. Course is in good shape. Just the teetimes are stacked one on top of another.
Greens excellent!
Greens have gone a little dormant for the season. But they are smooth and roll true like glass. Best and fastest I’ve ever seen them. Course in great shape. Worth getting a MWR card for free to play. Prob one of the best values in Jax area.
