Windy Harbor Golf Club

About
Windy Harbor Golf Club is a military golf course located at the Mayport Naval Station, it was formerly known as the Mayport Golf Club. The seaside course now takes its name from the blustery ocean breezes that sweep through the back nine. The golf course is narrow with tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens that are slightly sloped. There is also a defined cut of rough beside every fairway. Greenside bunkers and water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole make the course challenging for players of all abilities. Windy Harbor Golf Club also has practice facilities for golfers to use that include a driving range with grass and carpeted practice tees, a practice sand trap, and a large putting green.

Pace of play is ridiculously slow
Please have someone on course to help pace of play… unless you hit this course late in day it will be over a 5 hour round
Nas Mayport golf course / need MWR Card to enter
1st time on golf course, played as a single. Played with 2 other golfers. All played white tees. I think it was very challenging but will help improve your golf game by being challenging. Lots of water and sand. Saw a 7foot alligator on the white tee box on a par 3 on the back 9. Favorite hole 16th par 3 205yard longest par 3 I ever played its small and challenging. Good luck out there. Don't forget you can't enter the base without a MWR Card
Rain delay of first
Always a nice test of shot making . Best value by far. Course was in very good condition. Look forward to playing it again soon.
One of the better military courses in the area
Drove down from Georgia as our local course is having some green fungal issues, not the case here at this course though. Greens were in great shape, and although the pass got slow behind a particular group and a storm rolled through it didn’t dampen the game.
Great shape compared to other military course in the area
Drove an hour to play as the military course I usually play has had some problems with their greens lately. This was not the case here, the greens were in good shape. That water behind the green on hole 1 always gets me, but the challenge is welcome.
Course looks good
Course is good and of course it was so hot not many people out there so finally had a good quick round, sometimes it can get pretty slow, but not today
