Excellent course
It was very well groomed! Friendly people
time limited round
We had limited time and this short 9 hole course was perfect for this.
Good Value For Beginners
This course is a great place to play golf for people who are still working to improve their game or are average and just want to go out and have fun. Walking only. They do offer optional pull cart rentals
Good course to improve the short game
Monday to Thursday you can use the grass, instead of the green mats at the range.
Tee box
It could be a super nice place to play 9 holes. Or a place to practice for that 18 hole tournament your looking to play.
But what kills it is the tee boxes. They are at a slant or going down hill or the grass is so bad that they throw sand down to fill in where grass use to be .
On number 5 I had a downhill tee shot, with ball above my feet with sand as my grass.
My suggestion is to have an area with artificial grass to tee up on to allow the grass a chance to grow and get healthy again.
Artificial grass might become the norm in California with the drought an with the disease the grass gets that kills the tee boxes.
Great for practicing your short game
They have a nice grieving range and you get to hit off of grass!
The Pro shop is real nice and reasonably priced! The staff is very friendly!
Good fun
Great beginners course! Not a super busy places so it lets you get your practice in without needing to feel rushed . The only negative I could give this course is some better matinence on the tee boxes. They are a little too sandy so hard to hit off of with your irons. Other that that great fun!
Staff Problems
I have enjoyed playing this course. It's always in good shape. It's a straight-forward nine hole course, although the neighborhood isn't recommended.
Recent visit was disappointing. From the manager not allowing a valid coupon to the pro shop unable to move pace of play (three players with two bags talking on cell phones, searching forever for lost balls and standing around on greens after play), there seems to be a "who cares" attitude from the staff.
I'll play there again. We all have an off day. Hoping that's all it was and not a sign of deeper problems.
Great short game practice
I love this little course and practice here 2 or 3 times a week. It is close to home, in great condition, has great practice areas and as low cost as it gets. My worst complaint would be the seasonal goose droppings.
customer service
Lenny behind the counter is one great service provider. Very friendly and very knowledgeable about the course.
nothing pro about the pro shop
I needed to use 1's to pay and Lenny made an inappropriate comment about going to the strip club. Is this a golf course or a construction site? I have taken some youngsters there to play foot golf and I hope he's not unprofessional with them around. If he wants to keep it casual thats fine. I like that the course is inviting to beginners. But. On another occasion I showed up early (which most courses appreciate) and was counseled by the same guy about how important it is to come at your designated tee time or it messes up the schedule.Really? It was a weekday and there wasn't anyone there! The guy is either overly casual or a stickler. He seems a little unbalanced.
Good short course
Nice course, the rough wasn't too long (only hit it once), the hole placements were pretty difficult (which I like to improve your game), the desk person was really friendly, the range prices didn't look very expensive, there's ususally an option to play a second 9 if it's not busy. But overall I would play there more often if I can find some great deals and don't forget about the course from my regs.
Fun 9 holes
Fun 9 holes for a quick round. Club selection was a challenge with the wind blowing.
Short holes have difficult hole placement.
ok
it's ok. 10 bucks to play an easy nine hole. sharpen up the short game.
Little Jewel in the middle of San Jose
We played Rancho Del Pueblo for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed the course. It is very short and not too challenging but pleasant and in nice shape. My only complaint is the goose droppings. The geese themselves were no problem but they leave a lot of droppings on the fairways and around the greens so you need to watch your step. The two gentlemen in the pro shop were especially friendly to us first timers.
My favorite beginner course
I'm new to golf and have tried a few recommended courses for newbies. Rancho del Pueblo is fantastic! Beautiful, well-maintained, helpful staff, and great value sums it up. I will play here as often as possible. I actually can't speak to the pace of play because I play quiet weekdays. Tried to leave that one blank but it didn't let me.
Always a pleasure to Golf here
It was a dreary day but I was able to go out a bit early & even after it started to drizzle I had a great round.
The young man at the counter was / is ALWAYS so pleasant & helpful.
Easy course for a beginner like me.
Cant find 4rth hole for a while. No directions as to whre the next tee box is. The fairways are full of geese droppings. It all over my cart wheels and my shoes. There are some droppings in the greens as well. The course if fairly easy. 8th hole is challenging with the downslope to the left. Except for the geese droppings, the course is okay. A very short nine hole course.
'Fun' course !!!!!!!!
This is a course that will drive you crazy. Very challenging and almost unfair on a few holes. Bring your A game and some extra balls. Massive elevation changes that make judging distance a challenge. Great for target golf. Gets really windy in the afternoon.
Unprofessional
The big guy in the Pro shop has a weird sense humor and unprofessional.
Shortly after a comment he made during tee time check in, i was offended and not in the mood to play. I went back to the pro shop and left my receipt on the counter and said to give the round to someone.
This review is for The RANCH GOLF COURSE in Evergreen. Played it recently and the it is has deteriorated a lot due to lack of maintenance. Play it only with a GolfNow hot deal.
