great price and great course for beginners
i like this course, it's great for beginners such as myself. the fairways are wide open and greens are big and inviting for approach shots. i've been playing this course every weekend for the past 4 months and still enjoy it. the price is great and hard to beat.
shortgame
Good place to practice your short game, 3, 6 and 8 are pretty hard hole's
Ok for beginners!
Took my daughter there for a quick nine on a Friday! Pace of play was good as were all aspects of the GOLF course!
Good Practice Course
The course is basic and flat. Most of the holes are short. The green and fairway are reasonability well maintained. The sand traps make the course interesting.
Nice Muni Course
First the Staff in Golf Shop are very nice, and welcoming..Course is easy to manage for a senior like me..recommend for a good recreational time..greens are nice and manicured...
nice greens but lots of goose poo
the goose poo is overpowering. At least they could provide an air hose to blow the droppings off of your cart and shoes.
great 9 hole to practice your irons and short game, great and friendly staff
Nice short course to practice and hone your iron shots, very good condition and great value for the money. front desk staff are very friendly. Very close and convenient for players living in san jose and neighboring cities.
Watch the golf channel instead
Until I arrived there, I did not realize that this course is on the site of Thunderbird Golf Course, where I played 30 years ago. That fun course is gone and this little 9 hole could have been nice except for two factors: 1. extremely wet (sprinkler system, not rain); 2. overrun with Canadian geese and their feces. Tbird as we called it would play wet, but this course just had wet all over it. Unless you live nearby and play it for convenience, don't go out of your way to play it, even at the bargain rate GolfNow offers.
Too much goose feces!
Course is an OK Muni 9 hole, but little mitigation about the local, seasonal goose population means p**p all over.
Tee boxes are pretty chewed up. OK value, but the short course at Santa Teresa is a nicer venue for $13
Fun and Super Quick
Good, easy little 9 hole course with 8 par 3s and one par 4. It's got a marsh area, good size bunkers, and a few longer par 3s to add a bit of challenge. It's usually in good condition and is great for beginners. People who have been playing for awhile will breeze around there in no time. Nice to be able to hit off the grass at the driving range too.
Very good
Very good course for my granddaughter, who is in 1st Tee. My son is learn to play. The par 9 course is a excellent place to learn. The course also teach me patience when the three of us is on the course. Very good and helpful staff.
The course is longer than it looks
The course is longer than it looks, I only did 9 holes took about 90mins. The course looked like it was just mowed but the rough was VERY rough, I couldn't see my ball on some holes. The first hole has a very patchy green which was a bit harder to putt on, overall the place was pleasant. I probably shouldn't have gone on a day that was humid as the water hazard just added to humidity. Overall I'd go back, they got good deals on tee times!
Great Value-Played 9 holes on the weekend in 1.3 hours
Driving range, putting green, 9 holes of golf super fast-If the golfers in front of you are beginners/slow no problem playing through. This is probably the friendliest track I have ever played. Many, many Parent/Child golfers. The First Tee of Silicon Valley is a huge success at this course teaching golf for free and at the same time promoting nine core values applicable to the golf game and life itself.
The First Tee of Silicon Valley is a life skills program that builds the character of youth to help them succeed in life. The First Tee makes the game of golf accessible to all youth, regardless of background
Great course for beginners
great course for my wife who is just starting to play golf. The fees are very affordale. Well maintained and easy access to freeway.
Great nine-hole course with super friendly staff.
Great nine-hole course that you can play and still have time to be productive with the rest of your day. Good place to practice your short game and has a couple holes where you can take out your driver. They just got three brand-new golf carts and there is a decent amount of wildlife to gaze at considering you are right in the middle of Eastside San Jose. Overall a great place for beginners or anyone just trying to have some fun. I have been playing for years and still enjoy golfing at Rancho Del Pueblo.
Great 9 hole
Well kept for the area. I was surprised. Great course to practice with your irons. Great 9 hole for the price.
A nice, short 9 hole course that can be enjoyed by all skill levels.
The course and greens were in very good condition, setup to favor the beginner to intermedeate skilled golfer. The ambient noise level can be a little distracting due to the course being nestled in a residential area with close proximity to State Highway 101. The greens were well maintained and very receptive to all iron and highbred club shots. The down side to that was the many unrepaired ball marks left by previous golfers. The tee boxes were in average condition; however, #4 was setup in the fairway, ahead of the tee box that was undergoing repair. The pro shop allowed me to start 20 minutes ahead of my tee time since play was light on this day. Total time on the course was about 1.5 hours. Close by the club house is a driving range and putting surface where you can get in some warm up shots before teeing off. Over all, I was very pleased with my golf experience at Rancho del Pueblo and plan to golf a few more rounds there this summer.
A little TLC could really improve the course.
As a community course, it attracts a lot of beginner golfers.
Proper golf etiquette is lacking. Many don't repair ball marks and pace of play can bottle neck. The greens are good but the tee boxes are awful. Placement of tee markers are frequently put
on steep slopes. The course maintenance crew must not be golfers.
Great short game practice
I am a beginner and have only tried 3 courses. This one is close to me and cheap, senior - $10. For learning this game this course is great.
