The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

Poor condition
Greens and tees were ok. Fairways were 90% dirt or dead. Bunkers were neglected Layout was pretty cool but course was just overall in very poor condition.
Fun, unique course
My son and I are members here and also play elsewhere. We both like playing here as its unique and challenging. It definitely gives you a quality links experience. Greens and tee boxes are of good quality. Approaches and green surrounds are nice as well. We have noticed the fairways have been improving. Many of the bunkers have fresh sand and the maintenance staff was working on some of the others as we passed by them today. Glad to see things are getting much better at our home course.
This course is a Piece of crap.
With out a doubt worst conditioned course ever played. Last time checked most courses have fairways with grass not all dirt.
Looking Better!
I played this morning and play this course often as it’s local and affordable. The greens and tee boxes are in great shape. Greens are rolling great. I noticed today the fairways are starting to turn green! Stoked to see this course is heading in the right direction!
Course is not in good shape
The course deteriorated as they are not keeping up the fairways, a lot dirt areas and it has gotten worse since I last played. The carts were dirty.
Was great, not anymore.
When this course is green, it's a great course. I have been here several time and really enjoyed it. The course was open, green, cart girl was great. This time, nothing but the greens was green. Brown dirt all the way through and no more cart girl. I like it here, but I wont be back until I hear this place is green again and the cart girls are back.
Great layout/value!!!
If you like a course different from just about anything around this is the place. You won’t find a better layout for a link style course. Makes you think about your next shot when at the tee but also not so challenging the average golfer can’t do it. Perfect for an experienced player looking for a challenge in course management or a beginner who just wants to have a fun day of golf. Green and green side are in great shape, especially for the money you pay, and, the fairways are fast for long drives and lot of roll out. Also they have a great grass driving range so it’s like a true warm up and not hitting off mats for false confidence as well as a putting green all next to the first tee., They also have a HUGE chipping area for practicing your game on off days! Staff is very friendly and helpful and informed me they hired a new groundskeeper who’s going to Keep this place in amazing playing shape. Definitely going to talk to someone about becoming a member here since I will be back all the time!
Fun Track, Excellent Value
I always enjoy playing here. Truly a links style course experience. It’s a fun, challenging course. Fairways are fast, they keep ‘em pretty dry here. Greens are in great shape. The food here is awesome and the staff is super friendly.
Easily the worst course I have ever played.......
I'm pretty sure they threw some greens in a pasture, and dumped sand and rocks all over the place including the fairways and called it a links course. If this place was free, I wouldn't play it again.
Not to bad
Bunkers need some TLC but overall the course wasn’t too bad.
Amazing
I have played this course since it has been open. I loved the layout, but it has gone done hill since. The worst condition I have seen since! Please save this Diamond in the rough!
Aeration not disclosed at booking
Fairways terrible, "bunkers " are more like a gravel road and greens are aerated.
Course could be nice with some water and TLC.
Greens were punched and no marshall
The back nine was closed so the front nine was really backed up primarily due to one foursome where golf lessons were being given. As a result, there were three to four groups on each hole except for two completely clear holes ahead of the slow group. Because there is not a course marshall, pace of play was an issue especially with groups going around twice on nine holes.
Summerly used to punch greens with equipment that made very small aeration holes. Apparently, that equipment is no longer available. Punched holes were very large and lots of sand was on each green making them unplayable.
Too bad this wasn’t notified on GolfNow and surprisingly, the Hot Deal rates were higher than normal. Waste of money.
