The Links at Summerly
About
The Links at Summerly borders Lake Elsinore, southern California's largest natural lake. The Ortega Mountains and the Cleveland Natural Forest are also the golf course's neighbors. Although it feels nicely secluded, the Links are conveniently just minutes from Temecula. The design tumbles across a rolling terrain that is accented with 3 miles of Scottish-style burns. The natural mounding was deftly incorporated throughout the golf course. The rugged landscape, reminiscent of courses in the British Isles, gives it the look and feel of a traditional links layout. It is a formidable test that features heavily undulated fairways and an abundance of kidney-shaped bunkers. Although there are some tricky holes, each one was designed to offer several different playing strategies. Thought and imagination are required, but you will also have to use every club in your back to navigate the twists and turns of the Links at Summerly.

Getting better.
The course has been in difficulty for some time now. A year or so they fixed all the tee boxes and they were the best around. Since then the teeing areas are again in trouble. Currently the greens are starting to look good, they are still slow, but in much better shape. The fairways haven’t been good for a number of years. I like the layout, and the pace of play, but I’m not sure if they can ever get everything fixed up at the same time. It’s a good place to get plenty of swings in and not spend all day doing it.
Would go again…
Lay out great and greens good, but really needs a lot of work on the fairways. For the price and tee times I would go back….
It's golf
The course is a very good track. However the course was in bad shape. Fairway and greens need work. Friendly staff.
Good layout w/decent greens
Had a reasonably good day on the golf course even though at least 94 degrees when finishing. My friend couldn't get a hot dog at the turn as the facility was closed??? This course has lots of potential, so I hope the owner can afford to get in better shape for a better golfing experience in the future.
AWFUL HORRIFIC STAY AWAY
Wow, so sad.
Whatever the reason, this course has been all but abandoned.
Bugs and insects and carcasses everywhere. You're in danger of being bitten or attacked on every shot.
There are no fairways, only dirt.
The greens are beyond inconsistent and you'll never get a true roll.
This place should not accept anyone's money, no idea how they are ok with that.
Not even a website to book a time or mention the concern.
Raze the place and...well...just abandon it then.
First time, fun links course
Played here with my husband for the first time this morning. Staff are all very friendly. Tee boxes, and greens, and anpproaches are very nice. Fairways are good on some holes and need help on most. The course design and layout is amazing, a true links experience. Overall a good deal and great time. Price is nice, will be playing here more.
This place is real rough
I normally don’t post reviews but this is not to reflect on the the staff in anyway. All were courteous and respectful and very helpful and friendly. They all deserve raises in my opinion. But the course is a whole different story. For the price I would expect something decent. Fairways have little to no grass. It’s all in bad shape. This place needs a full landscaping and redesign. Didn’t even finish the round. Should be around $10 to play this course.
The links
There is no grass on the fairways it’s all dirt, greens are really slow ! I would not golf there again
Good, bargain rates
I’m a member here and play 3-4 times weekly. Greens are in great shape and roll true. Fairways are mostly dormant giving you tight lies and a lot of roll. Overall a lot of fun at incredible value.
Worst course conditions possible
There is no golf course here. Just dirt fairways and weeds. Looks like it might be a good course if it were maintained.
Review of Links at Sumnerly place
This is the worst course I have ever played in 30 years..Terrible conditions. No grass on the fairway. Hitting from first. The greens had grass but they were not in good shape. Total waste of money.
Fairways brown; brown hornets(?) on many holes
The fairways were brown at best. At worst they were bare and sandy. There was no drinking water on the course. The greens were in good shape and there ways healthy grass for 10-15 yards around the green. There were brown hornets(?) on many of the greens and greenside bunkers. They looked dangerous but they did not get aggressive. The links style layout is nice but the conditions leave much to be desired. There were very few golfers playing so the pace of play was good.
