About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Consistently Solid
Mt Dira is a reliable course. Not perfect, but good. One of the few florida public courses I've seen that has been able to maintain. Skip but consistent greens.
Love this course.
Decent Course
I enjoyed playing Mount Dora Golf Club. The course was in good shape. The greens were a little shaggy, but consistent. The one big negative is there is no driving range. So, no warmup. Also, they didn't have a grill open on a Saturday. They had some hot dogs and prepackaged sandwiches (not fresh. the kind you find in a vending machine). Overall, I liked the course. For those who have never played the course, eat before you go and be prepared mentally to step up and play without warmup.
Customer service was great. Staff were very helpful in guiding a visiting duffer.
Great Course
This is one of my favorite local courses even though it’s 40 mins away. Today the greens looked amazing, rough and boxes were well kept. Very pleased with my round.
Course improvements
The course has been improved significantly since the last time I played there. Greens and fairways are in great shape. The greens are a little slow and the traps need a little work. We had a good time.
