About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Good old course
The course was in pretty good condition. The layout is a good old municipal style course a little short and the holes are on top of each other but not to close that I felt in danger. I’ve only played here once but I was done with 18 holes in a little over 2 hours by myself. I would definitely go back
Beautiful classic track
Mt Dora was way better than I heard it was. The fairways were nice. Greens ran true. The only downside is the rough is cut a little long and it’s easy to lose balls. Lower the blades a 1/2” and it will be great!
Enjoyable course with unique layout
Course is in pretty decent shape, that offers good value for the price. I escape to this course when I can get a hot deal.
Consistently Solid
Mt Dira is a reliable course. Not perfect, but good. One of the few florida public courses I've seen that has been able to maintain. Skip but consistent greens.

Decent Course
I enjoyed playing Mount Dora Golf Club. The course was in good shape. The greens were a little shaggy, but consistent. The one big negative is there is no driving range. So, no warmup. Also, they didn't have a grill open on a Saturday. They had some hot dogs and prepackaged sandwiches (not fresh. the kind you find in a vending machine). Overall, I liked the course. For those who have never played the course, eat before you go and be prepared mentally to step up and play without warmup.
Customer service was great. Staff were very helpful in guiding a visiting duffer.
