Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Great challenging golf course.
If I could afford to play every day I would my-favorite course.
Love this Course
It’s not fancy and it may be in need of some loving care but it’s fun! It moves along pretty well! And my friends and I love it!!
Definitely a course to play!!
Mount Dora Golf Club
Staff friendly and efficient. Greens were in great condition despite sand treatment. Fairways were in seasonal condition and pace of play was surprisingly quick as we completed 18 in 3 hours.
Mount Dora GC - First Time
Course was in very good shape for Florida “winter golf”. Greens were in excellent condition. Busy the day after New Year’s Day, but pace of play was not an issue. Only thing we found odd was the tight golf cart inventory. We still didn’t have carts at our tee time, so rather than wait longer for carts to come in, we walked the first two holes and then acquired one cart before hole three. I actually ended up walking the entire 18 by choice, and it is a great course for walking. Well kept practice greens for putting and chipping. Super friendly staff.
*******MUST READ*****
Don’t have any idea how this is a 4 star GolfNow rated course. Fairways are dirt, tee boxes are wavy, greens are all tiny, painted, plugged, fur-bearing, bumpy, front-yard grass. If you want to ruin your putting stroke, play here. Each hole reminded me of the previous - short, straight and sleepy. I can’t tell you how the bunkers are because they don’t come into play. Can play the course easily with 3 clubs, leave the rest at home. I would say the staff was friendly but the starter gave my tee time to a walk on - after I had checked in and was standing right there next to the 1st tee. I offered to let it go after the round by letting the course buy my first beer. But Donna would not have it and said to “blame it on the full-moon”……..this confused me more as it won’t be full for another 4 days. She then backed it up further when I asked if I could quote her in the review. She said “SURE, MY NAME IS DONNA I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET FIRED FOR 6 YEARS NOW!!”
I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, so please take this review seriously. According to the star rating system, this course is as good as Orange County National. Something is wrong with the system is this is true.
Friendly staff and enjoyable round
Nice day, even though we had a few misty showers, friendly staff, Fun day!
Fine Community Golf Course
Four of us enjoyed an excellent round of golf. Staff was very friendly. The course is very convenient when staying in Mt. Dora.
Very Easy Course
Straightforward course that is fun to play. Good sized greens!
Great layout design
It was a pleasure, only indiffenence was lack of directions for 2 holes
Overall good course!
Challenging layout. Greens in OK shape. Traps in good shape.
Good Greens
I play here all the time but come on a week day so not that busy but this time it was a Saturday in season and it was very busy so we played best ball to keep moving quickly. We had a foursome in front of us and behind us was right on our heels. The greens are looking great and the course is well maintained its definitely value coming here. I don't want to say more about that or they will raise the cost per round on us. Don't take my word for it come check them out. See you there.
PS. Would like to see a cart girl.
Well sloped challenging greens. Fairways were dry and grass was cut very short
