About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

The course was nice but of course the rising sun made the first few holes difficult. Please note the lady at the front desk noted I had accidentally paid for three golfers by mistake...there were only two of us. Will you please adjust my invoice?

Always a fun time to play there, course notlong but has challenges, staff is very friendly and helpful, good prices considering all the other courses prices getting higher all the time.t fora affordable and fun course, play it if you get a chance.
Still Loving it
I have played Mount Dora a number of times and you can never go wrong with this hidden Jem. It's always in great condition for a neighbor course and the staff is always friendly and easy to deal with. I bring all my golfing buddies to Mount Dora anytime I can get a chance to book a tee time. Keep up the good work guys I do appreciate it.
Not too shabby if you’re in the area - Not worth the drive if you’re not
First time playing this course. Design is straight and tight. Layout was nice and challenging. Couple holes had nice elevation changes which I haven’t seen much in courses in Central Florida. Finished in a little over 4 hours which was more than expected given the shorter total yardage. Some of the tee boxes definitely needed attention (#3 and #4). Greens and challenging and small in size; green condition was my biggest complaint. Slowest greens I’ve likely played in my life and the ball bounced throughout almost every putt.
A must play
A fantastic layout and conditions were just good enough. A few more pre-emergent herbicides and it would be awesome all summer long.
Great for working on your game
Fairly short course, but does allow you to use a variety of clubs. Perfect course for working on your game. Fairways are a little rough, but plenty playable. Greens are not bad, running a little slow. Staff is terrific.
Dogtrack
Course was a dogtrack. Greens very slow and grainy, fairways had numerous weeds. tee were not good. Bad experience, don,t know how it got a 4 star rating.
Great course for working on the game.
Course is fairly short, but allows you to work on a lot of shots. Greens are in pretty good shape, just slow. Fairways just need some TLC. Very good value for the money. Incredibly friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone in the sea looking to play.
Mt Dora
Mt Dora golf club is a solid,mid level course.The tee boxes and greens are in good shape,some of the fairways are a bit rough,but it is July in Florida so to be expected.The lady at the desk was great,and we went off 2nd in the a.m. so pace was great.A good value all around,worth playing,especially w a hot deal.
Historic Course not to far from Orlando!
Had an amazing experience out at Mount Dora.

Much improved
Overall the course has really been improved over the last few years. The greens are great, needs better grass in the fairways and to get rid of rogue grass in the roughs.
Greens good. Fairway not so good
The time put into the greens should also be put into the gairways. They needing mowing badly. I have plYed this course twice and have still not met a pleasant staff member.
