Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

Greens in good shape
As day goes on play slows down
Mount Dora Club
Good muni style course. Pace can be slow. Due to the topography, the course can play tough. Some long uphill par 5’s and par 3’s and par 4’s. Only one water hazard. I have always enjoyed playing there.
Course was in good shape. Greens were true and moderately quick. Worst part is the number of people playing. Too backed up. They need to spread out the tee times. On some holes we there were two groups waiting to tee off along with our group. That's nuts.
Good golf course!
Good and fair golf course, we found the greens to be fast & challenging. Pace of play could have been better as we had to wait about 5 minutes on each hole. Overall, it was worth the price to play.
Challenging Greens
Course was overbooked. No carts, backed up and we had a twosome placed in front of us on hole 10. Round was about 4:40
Have played this course before and like it but it was a mess yesterday.
Most likely won’t come back.
First time playing this course. Staff was nice…course a little beat up…greens in good shape but pretty small. Very playable for all levels of golfers.
Too many players booked
A MAJOR problem with this course is that the fairways are way too close to one another which causes players stray shots to end up in the fairway your playing in. Then you end up waiting for them to hit their ball before you can even tee off because they are in the way, which then backs up pace of play & then the group behind begin to hit into you. Yesterday there were balls everywhere; very hard to tell who’s ball is who’s with so much traffic on the course. Too many tee times booked too close together makes for a not very enjoyable round. Also false fronts around the greens makes an already uneven hilly course just that more difficult and extremely frustrating. Challenges are fine but when your ball constantly rolls back at you down pretty steep inclines it gets old.
great course for the money
We had a great time, we were a tad late in teeing off due to frost in the AM. The staff at pro shop, restaurant, beverage center were absolutely awesome. We could not have asked to be treated any better
