Mount Dora Golf Club
About
Mount Dora Golf Club is a historic, member-owned golf club open to the public, located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Orlando. The course began to form in 1945, shortly after World War II when returning G.I.'s petitioned the city for land to build a golf course.
A second nine was added in 1959 and the clubhouse was build in the 1960s. Set on just 85 acres, the course bills itself as "The longest 5,700 yards in Florida" thanks to an abundance of water and up and downhill lies that will demand precision over power.

very enjoyable golf experience
fun course. not overly challenging but fun to play.great staff.
Fun but challenging
Some of the fairways are pretty narrow and sloped. Greens were somewhat fast and some were significantly domed. A couple of shots that we thought were in the middle of the green, rolled off and finished 10 yards off the green (a little course knowledge would have helped.) All in all, it was a fun, fair course and Paula in the bar was terrific!!
Friendly staff but slow play
Need a ranger out speeding up the stragglers. It took us almost five and a half hours for 28 holes
Nice course but a little short
The length from the back tees is only 5700 yards so long hitters might not like this. Fairways and greens in good shape. some of the tee boxes needed some work, I would play this course again.
And the improvements keep comin!
With the addition of new forward t-boxes on #5, 12 and 13, my friends and I are really enjoying the course. Also the new tables and chairs in the grill are terrific! Th tough it’s an older course, they are always doing something to ramp it up! The staff is amazing!!!
Slow play, over booking
I love course layouts green was in good condition, tee boxes, fairway and around greens needs some work, slow player most four some, club house over bookings, starting tee time at 12 finished round at 5:45 almost 6 hrs round.
Tight challenge
Course has a tight lay out of holes.you better hit straight or you will be on another fairway. The greens and fairways were in good shape. Most of the tee boxes were good however a couple were uneven. We just moved back or forward a few feet of tee markers to flat area. Staff was amazing. Dorothy was helpful and very nice.. I had a great time playing there
Visiting from Pennsylvania
It was a wet day, but the course was in great shape. The folks at Mount Dora were very friendly.
Tale of two 9's
MDGC is fantastic. The clubhouse feels like a proper old country club and the bar is perfect. The front 9 is fairly benign, but the back 9 has great elevation changes and turtle back greens. The greens were in good shape for late in the day after lots of rounds.
Always a pleasure!
The new T-boxes in 5 and 12 are wonderful. I’m enjoying seeing the improvements keep coming! The staff is a wonderful -Donna is terrific at the pro shop desk and Paula is wonderful in the grill!
The course was in good condition with the greens being above average. The staff is courteous and helpful. We had a junior golfer in our group and they wanted to make sure that I did not overpay. Very nice! After our round, we had drinks in the bar area. Again, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The prices were the best I have ever seen at a golf course facility. This is a course we will definitely play again and again.
