Championship at Seven Springs Country Club
About
Seven Springs Country Club offers two golf courses, the Championship and an executive course. Located in New Port Richey, the courses are just minutes away from Tampa Bay and the scenic Gulf of Mexico beaches. The Championship Course offers a challenge for players of all skill levels, especially if it's a windy day. There are a few bunkers scattered along the greensides but water is the most prominent hazard. There are numerous lakes and ponds throughout that come into play on almost every hole. Towering pines and cypress trees also frame most of the holes. Thanks to the challenging layout, lush fairways, and manicured greens, the golf course has earned the reputation of being one of Pasco County's best. Seven Springs also offers a practice facility with an excellently conditioned driving range with four target greens and a hitting area that is 300 yards in length.

Sparse on grass
Some greens painted, but rolled fairly well.
Fairways should be blown to remove excessive leaves. Not much grass in fairways.
bad greens
Greens had a bunch of painted areas , fairways were pretty sparse
Good price but poor greens
Course has lots of water to challenge you. Overall not in the greatest shape (greens have little to no grass growing.
Very poor condition
Staff was great... Course conditions not so much... Expected better this time of year...
5 Hour rounds
We played this course because it was close to us. First time it was a 5 hour round. Course was borderline decent and got a good deal on Golf Now. Because of location thought we would give it another chance. Nope, another 5 hour round, Tee off was 12:40, didn’t get off until after 1:00, finished last hole as it was getting dark. Way overpriced for the condition. I understand winter golf, but ... that is not the problem, needs some grass. Will not go back even for $20.
Staff very welcoming.Interesting layout with perhaps too many doglegs.Greens looked slow but were actually medium quick and fair. Fairways were dry and thin. Lots of roll that could lead to unexpected trouble.
Ok, nothing great
So many dog legs left I wish I was a left handed golfer and so many water holes I wish I was a scuba diver. So many tree roots when I played a knock down shot I actually hit one about 50 yards ahead of me and kicked the ball back for a 30 yard loss. No map on score card so as soon as you leave the tee you have no idea where the trouble lies. Greens and fairways were good but a lot of tees were not level and a lot of holes ran into adjoining holes and I had to keep asking which was the green we were playing. Staff was friendly and starter was great and I saw pull carts but they said you had to be a member to walk the course which seemed odd.
Just ok
Nothing special about the course except a nine foot gator on one hole . I played alone as the starter sent the threesome I was supposed to play with out early. There was a couple in front of me walking, I was alone riding, that never offered to let me play through and there were multiple times I drove up to the tee box before they even teed off. Very inconsiderate people. Other than that the cartboy was very helpful and polite. I’ll play there again as it’s a ten minute drive from home.
Killer good greens!
It took all 18 holes to figure out the greens and I still didn't get it! Fantastic. Breaks looked subtle but were not. Course layout is lots of fun and you need previous knowledge to score well. Great turf for taking divots!
Great Course
A must play, but you better be accurate as there is a lot of water.
Course was in great shape along with the Greens.
A first
I’d read prior reviews and and thought I’d give the course a try. I’ll say now, the course maintenance is fine; greens were well tended and the fairways are not as sparse as many local courses tend to be, though mowed rather tightly Due to recent rain some areas were wet enough that any lofted ball would plug, but that’s nobody’s fault. That’s as much as I can offer as a positive.
However, the experience went downhill quickly. From the first hole - as a single - I had a foursome ahead who, I suppose, had never imagined letting others play through what appeared more a very leisurely social outing than a round of golf. By the third hole, I had to bypass the hole entirely and go around to the next to avoid a wholly unacceptable pace of play. Got through a few holes and then encountered a large ladies league/outing of several groups. And sat 15 minutes between shots, until finally, for the first time in over 40 years of golfing, I called it a day, because I was looking at a 5 hour pace, minimum. Several holes are adjacent to a very busy highway with a great deal of road noise feet away. Whatever charms the course may or may not possess, I will never know; I won’t be back. It was the least enjoyable round of golf I’ve ever (almost) played.
Great Value and good condition
This course had great greens with good speed. Layout was pretty good with a few hidden holes that should be easier the next time.
