About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Palatka is my go to course when I am visiting for seven weeks every winter. The fairways are great since they use rye overseed. The greens are OK considering the winter conditions. The surrounds around the greens leave a little bit to be desired. Quite a few weeds in Sandy spots I can forgive a lot however since it’s a great track, the grandfather Oaks all over the course are quite wonderful. I play this course more than any other course and it’s not even close. Try it and you’ll find out how much you like it. It’s just a great value and time.
Greens are failing!
The course layout is fair and not overly complicated. The surrounds and greens are in especially bad condition! Disease has hit and they may lose over half
Their greens. I will not go back until the greens are healthy and they are not so unreceptive to any kinds of approach shots, nearly all attempts to get close tonthe hole you jeopardize it running off and there are bunkers around every green quite unfair. Don’t anticipate I will go back.
Donald Ross makes small greens
I had read about this course and decide on a trip to Jacksonville to go play it. It was great. The pro was really cool. Ran into what I am guessing was a men’s club member and he gave me his tips for where not to hit the ball. The people were are extremely nice. The course was a bit dry but over all a fun track. Green are small so accuracy was a premium to score. I will play this course every time I am in the area. For them hopefully it rains more soon.
Course is in pretty good conditions
We played our 6th game around here
And that was our best one
Fairways are green
Bunkers have sand
Couple of greens patch with sand
We had a great day of golf
Enjoyable Round
Excellent condition, nice layout and very reasonable rates.
Very tough small track with extremely small greens that are tough to hold. Lots of blind shots off of tees and into greens.
Fairways and teeboxes were in great condition - some wear / dead spots on a few of the greens.
The range is a water range on an elevated hill beside hole 9, the grass on that hill has been beat down pretty bad.
Overall the course is very well maintained!
Staff were friendly and accommodating for my first time out.
Had a great time and will be coming back in the future!
Group behind playing into us.
Yes… we were unable to go any faster. Players in front .
Professionally designed layout.
Surprisingly decent shape for this time of year. Newer carts and fast greens. Played with three other snowbirds. Weather was good ( compared to MN). Had a fun day, will be back again soon.
Potentially a very good track!
Overall the layout was a course that encouraged you to work the ball flight left and right from various tees. The tees and fairways were in very good shape. The greens bunkers and surrounds all needed some work to get them into good playable shape. I would like to give it another chance once the greens and surround s are more grown in with attention to the bunker edges defined, proper fill
Of sand and weeds removed.
Fun day
Tee boxes and fairways in good shape, greens a little rough. Very hard and fast. It was winter and they were in drought conditions. Overall great experience and challenging enough for most golfers yet accommodates all skill levels.
It's ok
Going to play somewhere different. Didn't need anything special but made a 45 minute drive. After we made tee time we saw that this was the 29th ranked public course or something so we thought it would be a good course. It wasn't. I have no idea how they got that ranking. It's a fine little typical Florida course this time of year. The fairways not in great shape, the greens have plenty of brown spots and some of them it's like putting on a driveway and some are slow. Layout is just okay but nothing special. If you're looking for a nice little spot and get a good rate go for it but don't expect anything.
Worth the drive.
I’m in orange park and have taken this drive two weeks in a row. Course is in immaculate condition. Already booking for next week.
