Palatka Golf Club

Surprisingly decent shape for this time of year. Newer carts and fast greens. Played with three other snowbirds. Weather was good ( compared to MN). Had a fun day, will be back again soon.

Overall the layout was a course that encouraged you to work the ball flight left and right from various tees. The tees and fairways were in very good shape. The greens bunkers and surrounds all needed some work to get them into good playable shape. I would like to give it another chance once the greens and surround s are more grown in with attention to the bunker edges defined, proper fill

Of sand and weeds removed.

Tee boxes and fairways in good shape, greens a little rough. Very hard and fast. It was winter and they were in drought conditions. Overall great experience and challenging enough for most golfers yet accommodates all skill levels.

Going to play somewhere different. Didn't need anything special but made a 45 minute drive. After we made tee time we saw that this was the 29th ranked public course or something so we thought it would be a good course. It wasn't. I have no idea how they got that ranking. It's a fine little typical Florida course this time of year. The fairways not in great shape, the greens have plenty of brown spots and some of them it's like putting on a driveway and some are slow. Layout is just okay but nothing special. If you're looking for a nice little spot and get a good rate go for it but don't expect anything.

Older course, Donald Ross design. The course was in good shape, all aspects. Good price and friendly staff.

I’m in orange park and have taken this drive two weeks in a row. Course is in immaculate condition. Already booking for next week.

I was immediately met, and welcomed. Starter was informative and helpful, had my cart ready and gave me information on my other golfers making up my foursome. Showed me where driving range was, and time to return for tee time . Excellence is rarely found, Palatka starter is a good example

Great Course. Has some elevation you dont typically find in Florida. Has some holes along street or next to other holes so watch for balls and hitting vehicles.

Pace was great and not very crowded. Great price for a round and course is in good shape.

One of the few remaining Donald Ross courses. Greens and fairways are in good shape. Very reasonably priced and fun to play.

My group and I have been having a fall tournament for the last 20 years, with usually between 28-42 guy's. We had some problems with the course we played on for the last 15 years, so we were looking for a new venue. Got in touch with Andy at Palatka golf club. From the first contact with him till the day of our tournament, he was top notch. Extremely helpful, very knowledgeable and worked with me on every aspect of our tournament. The day of the tournament he and his staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The course was in excellent condition and even with another tournament out there during ours, the pace of play was great. Can't say enough about all the staff working that day. Every one of our 36 guy's left the course very happy. Thanks Andy and staff.

Palatka is a Donald Ross classic. Every hole is a beauty. We had a noon tee time and finished in 3 1/2 hours. The conditions were perfect. The greens were rolling faster than they normally do. I strongly recommend everyone give it a try.

Inexpensive but still decent tee boxes/fairways/greens.

Not the most manicured course, but for the price it’s a great value. The keep tees, fairways and greens in decent shape, but if you veer anywhere else it’s bad news.

Staff was nice and the round was cheap. Unfortunately, pace of play was poor. I counted two 5-somes and a 6-some within a few holes of me and the twosome in front of me couldn’t keep up with the 5-some that was in front of them. Greens were very slow and conditions were average at bet. Old course and old clubhouse. I don’t think I’ll head back. Again, the staff was great and most of the people I met were nice enough. But allowing slow 5 and 6 person groups on a Saturday morning is not ok.

Unlike most of the courses in my area of northeast Florida, this course has a lot of elevation changes. It also has quite narrow fairways, lined by trees and thick rough. Playing by myself, I lost two balls off the tee that were not out-of-bounds. But, I found more looking for mine. Greens were in great shape. Some T-boxes were a little beat up, but not too terrible. I was only in 1 bunker, fortunately, so I can’t say much about them. The practice putting green is right next to the Pro shop, and the driving/chipping range is up a hill past the 10th hole.
