Palatka Golf Club

About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

Best value around St Augustine
I discovered this gem a few years ago and it is my go to course. Fairways are in great shape, Most of the greens are too! You won’t find a better value around the area - And be sure to have hot dog At the bar after your round!
Good course for the money
First time playing here and we used a hot deals rate, 2 golfers and we were paired with a single for the first 9. Really nice course layout; well marked and you go by the clubhouse between 5-6 before the turn which is nice for a bathroom break. As a female golfer this is big for me! Lol as for the course itself, tee boxes were standard, some unevenness but nothing terrible. Also well marked. Greens were fast and very turtle backed, making 1-2 putts turn into 3-4. Some striping on the greens from course work I’d guess, but for novice golfers like myself and my husband we had a great time. People in the clubhouse as well as the starter were all very nice and got us going quickly. Would definitely go back!
Homey
A nice municipal type course, great for getting your confidence back. The course is not particularly challenging, with a few quirky things, like a driving range where you hit balls into a pond, but at least they have a driving range.
Value for money
Love the fairways, friendly staff. Several greens still in rough shape.
wet
It was pouring down rain and they would not close the course. There was only one foursome on the entire course during our entire round. They must have also booked through Golfnow and unable to get their money back unless the course was closed. Very unfriendly policy by Golfnow. I will never book through Golfnow again.
Nice surprise!
I was paired with another golf now player. We shared the same amount of ability. He "guided" me through the course as he'd played it previously. Had a great time playing a hundred years old course. Fair but strict if you have par mind. Will be playing it again, soon.
Better than expected
Whenever our friends from South Carolina come to Florida they want to play this course. He is a greens man at TPC Myrtle Beach. He said they over seeded the fairways with rye and hopes that when it dies off as it gets warmer the conditions don’t go downhill.
Great Shape
I’ve been visiting Palatka off and on for a few years now, apart from some minor details the course conditions were in great shape and as always friendly staff.
Lush
The course was as lush as I have seen it in a long time. I stopped playing here a while ago when they had irrigation system issues.
Happy to report the course is in the best condition in years.
Fun hilly course
The course was in good condition in spite of the greens being recently sanded. Fairways were good but the rough was not well kept. Still overall a fun course to play.
nice course
Enjoy trying different places, especially when it's a Ross course. She could use some tlc, but was fun and playable with small tricky greens. If I was in the area, I would go around again.
