Overcharged
Was charged for 2 carts even though I booked thru Golf Now & it was included. Had to bring in my receipt to get a refund.
The starter could not explain why.
Please explain........... Mark
fun course in San Mateo
Poplar Creek is a good course to play.
It is fairly open and not too long.
The course is not in good shape because of the amount of rain we have received.
It is honestly not that well maintained.
The price is fair and normally it does not take too long to play
Poplar creek
This is my home course. 3-4 very challenging holes here. A lot of rain lately conditions are soggy. Greens were great. Prices very reasonable and staff is great.
Fun course even with all the rain
Played 3 days after the rain stopped. Conditions were cart path only, but the conditions weren't bad considering all the rain we've had. Nice residential layout and the course has many challenging holes that play longer than the 6000 yards would imply.
Trees Diwn
Very wet lots of Mad should of gave you a brake on cost lots balls due to trees down lots of mud and it would just eat your ball away. Nice since haven't been able to play for more then a month due to all the rain. Nice day for Golf hope the clean the mess up.
Went out without any expectation, enjoyed the round
Considering the 4+ inches of rain the course received in the past 3 days. Happy to see my driver still got some roll on the fairway. Puddles and mushy in low lying areas but very playable. Greens are in pretty condition too.
Average
Ground is not well kept. So many areas are muddy and still underr repair. Many areas are restricted to card due to very soft ground and and repair.
Nice round
good pace of play and perfect weather. Nice to get out and walk a flat course for a change.
HS Golf Tournament - A Pain
This course should close when they decide to host a high school golf tournament. Not put people out behind the teams. It took 90 minutes to play the first three holes!!!
A very busy, local SF area muni
2.75 hours for the front nine of 3000 yards on a weekend. That tells part of the story.
The greens were good, the rest of the course was spotty between bare areas and under-mowed turn.
I was told that the course was under consideration for conversion general county recreational facilities like soccer fields. Play it now while you can and if you're patient.
Rough Condition
The course is in tough shape. Recent rains along with overwatering and maintenance vehicle ruts makes for tough fairways. Also the front desk staff is incredibly indifferent when checking in to the point that I almost apologized for inconveniencing them for showing up. I live very close to the course but would rather drive a bit further for a more welcoming environment
Effects of drought
Tee boxes being sanded. Fairways are very patchy, many unfair lies on the fairways. Greens are very nice. These days all you can hope for at most courses are nice greens and tee boxes, and maybe allow yourselves to bump your fairway lies? Pace of play on weekday was nice. 4 hours walking. Play again? Not anytime soon, unless I get another good deal. $25, others paid $18!!
Nice course, could play faster
This is a great course, fairly flat, not terribly difficult to navigate. The only issue I encountered was the course marshals doing nothing other than driving around and waving hello to us. We flagged one down to point out the group in front of us being a hole and a half behind and holding up everyone behind them, and he just smiled and said "it's Sunday", shrugged his shoulders and drove off. I know the course needs to make money, but it's stuff like this that will make me spend my money elsewhere.

Great day. Didn't start 'til 5:30 but got in 14. Coarse is expectedly flat but creative in areas. The Starter was a super nice guy but tried to sound like a Barking old dog. He couldn't hide his inner poodle.
Sanded greens
As a whole , everything was good. The back nine greens were recently sanded (and quite heavily, I might add) and no notification was given in advance..
I'd like to see such information listed on Glof Now's site/app as I might have played elsewhere that day.
Overall, my experience was satisfactory.

horrible course
The conditions of the course were terrible, it's the middle of summer and the grounds are pumping everywhere, and ground under repair on basically every hole. WORST greens I've ever putted on, very bumpy and abrupt, I would not recommend this course to anyone who is not a beginner. For a $70 per round course I would expect the fairways and greens to be groomed and in much better condition. I'll never play here again.
Disliked the whole experience
I got to poplar creek about 90 minutes before my tee time. I had time to get some lunch before getting on the course, sat down at a high top near the bar, and for 10 minutes nobody came to take my order. Wait staff saw me, wasn't busy, didn't come over. I don't get it.
Restaurant mishaps aside, let's talk about the course now. Pace of play was pretty quick. There were some roped off areas on the 1st hole, but after that the course was in decent shape. Tees and greens were average, didn't stand out as being good or bad. Course layout isn't memorable - no elevation changes, nearly every hole is parallel to each other, there's a little bit of water on the course but it doesn't really come into play.
I won't be back.
Fun & Challenging Course
This was my second time playing here. I travel quite often and have now made this my course of choice when in the Bay Area. The course offers a nice challenge for golfers of all levels. Played from the Blacks and shot just over my average. Greens are in decent shape.. They are obviously putting in a lot of effort to get the course in tip top shape. Lots of areas being heavily maintained. Very friendly staff & great rentals clubs. Played with the Titliest AP2's. Not many courses around are giving out rentals like that! Will definitely be playing again!
Fast pace of play
First nine was 2 hours. Back nine was 2 hours and 10 minutes. Great.
100% accurate review of this course. Is it built on Landfill? Swampy areas everywhere, under repair. A few holes had decent greens, but many of the greens were very bumpy, with what almost looked like geese footmarks (there are about 100 geese that feed on the fairways of holes 2-5)
Terrible wind late part of the day
