This course is moderate and no hill so easy to play
I like this course because it is not challenging to the golfer.
Play for the value, not the challenge
Good condition for greens and tees. Fairways were long but playable. Needs more length that is possible with some creative tee box locations on most par 4 holes. It's an interesting location with coyote point blocking most of the cold bay breeze. Needs some length.
Over 6 hour round!!! Course was a Zoo.
Golf is no fun when you have to wait 15 minutes between shots. Its absurd they let to many people on the course at one time.
Short and Fun
This is one of the shortest courses I have ever played and a lot of fun. Your guaranteed to make a few birdies unless the relentless bay wind shows up. Overall this course generally plays slow as it attracts first time golfers and seniors. I would recommend this course for any one who wants to have a fun and avoid trees and hills.
nice change from my usual East Bay courses
Never played it before. Course was relatively short, several tempting par 4's in reach for a long driver. Hazards aplenty but sand traps in good shape. rather flat layout and I am told the wind was unusually strong on the day I played which made it very difficult on the back 9. The greens were in good shape. I'll play it again someday. Play bogs down from weekend warriors trying to hit from black tees and having to wait for the fairway or green to open up.
Fun course to play. Great for all handicaps
Course was in good shape and played well. Always a fun course to play, not too much trouble and good for high handicappers
A great deal through Golf Now
It's a good walking course, and layout to bring beginners to get a feel for playing eighteen holes, at the same time enjoy the challenges the course provides for more experienced golfers.
According to a map in the clubhouse PC will be undergoing a master plan rennovation.
Good course for the price
For beginner and intermediate golfer, the course in good condition and the price is very acceptable.
The staff was helpful and accept to change our tee times without problem.
Hope you're not in a hurry.
Been playing this course since I was a kid, back when it was Coyote Point Muni. Since being revamped this course has become a great place to learn the game and enjoy a round with friends of all skill levels. That being said the management could do a better job of spreading out the tee times to speed up the pace of play since it gets routinely backed up two to three groups at the tee boxes of 2 and 3. Makes for a slow round on a course that doesn't show real length till the back 9. + 4 1/2 hr loops are not uncommon on weekends. If those early traffic jams could be prevented than this course would get 4 stars and be well worth the price.
Front Nine Slow/Play Short/Play Smart
The front nine feels like its is backed up on every hole. Two groups waiting at a few of the holes. Short holes tempt people to go for the green on Par 4's so groups wait for others to clear the green before teeing off.
The back nine seems to clear out ok and a normal pace resumes.
Plan for a long round and just stay relaxed by laughing at others who have no right going for it.
The normal price is too high for a Muni type course but as a hot deal I can't complain. I will go again for the right price. Its a good course to work on your game and playing smart by taking irons off the tee for a still short iron to the green on most holes.
Course fairly well maintained and is a good value.
Golf carts were new condition. Greens were in good shape. Pace of play was perfect. Course is notably improved over past years.
This course is terrible!
I almost hit by other people because of fairways are too narrow.
I will not golf at this course again...
Good muni, highly played.
Greens were in great shape round was slow but Muni weekend golf in the bay area is like that. Very easy course, play the tips.
course is nice
tee time was over 30 minutes behind original tee time, then over a 5 hour round.
Super Slow Day
The course was busy, too busy they squeezes so may people on the course there were sometimes 3 groups ahead of us waiting to tee off on par 4s and 5s. The players did not play ready golf and there was a group of 5 who were exceptionally slow. Also the greens were in extremely poor conditions compared to the other times I have played this course.
If you like a very long day of golf this place is for you otherwise go elsewhere
Weekday rate was appropriate for the level of construction for some holes. Fairways are VERY slim - sometimes dangerous. Indifferent ProShop staff.

Over all good.
The golf course needs a level of difficulties for players.
Some courses are for beginners.
Some are advanced.
You should recommend for these.
Moderate challenge for an intermediate golfer
This was my first round at Poplar Creek. I am less than an intermediate golfer so I felt that the layout was a good mix of (very few) challenges and occasions to pat myself on the back. I am not a die hard golfer wanting to go back after a round of golf feeling broken. This round gave me quite a few shots that'll make me go back and play. There was some water, fair amount of sand and a fair amount of dogs-leg-L/R. The fairways were even and clean, greens were fast and smooth and broke in all sorts of unseen ways!!! I would definitely go back for a better score. Cart was included and we barely had to wait for anyone - and we were really surprised that we clocked just under 5 hours!
The Par 5s can be made a little more interesting. Currently they go on forever and are not challenging at all - even at my level.
Fun course and easy to walk
This course is only 5645 yards from the Gold tees and 6042 from the Black tees. Good course to work on your game. When the winds kick up, it will make the course more difficult. Course is flat and easy to walk. Good location in San Mateo, off of Hwy 101. Good drainage. The greens were fast on the day we played.
