Slow boat to China
12:37 tee time, finished 5"45 PM. But I played well enough to beat my age by 2 strokes with a 77 using the forward tees.
Good course and great weather
Poplar Creek is a good course that played very well today. We played in less than 4 hours at a peak time. The course is in excellent condition and it offers a great value.
Good round .. little slow
Course was in overall good shape. Our round took about 4 hours and 45 mins. We slowed down on the back nine on the last 4 holes.
I forgot what hole ... par 3 ... in the bunker .. hated it because there was no sand in the bunker so I couldn’t play a true bunker shot.
The restaurant is under renovation, but they did have complimentary coffee and pastries for everyone which was nice.
Local Course
This is the course I go to last minute when I don't want to travel or spend a ton....with that, it can be a long round and the greens get a little beat up by the end of the day. Then theres the days when the weathers perfect and people are moving along, like today. Greens are almost healed so a little bumpy but fairways were good and the people were nice.
Easy, Playable, Fub
The course was in the best shap I have seen it in 20 years. It was an enjoyable round.
Sandy Greens Worked Fine for the Putt
Course is fine during the rain. Ball rarely plugs. Greens are sanded. However your putts roll just fine. Only no break.
If your wise about start times you can get around in a decent 3 hours. When weather gets warmer be prepared for a 4 hr day.
Great day at Poplar
Conditions were great as was the pace of play. Mike at the Pro Shop was his usual friendly and funny self!
Awesome day!

Good course on a nice day
Poplar Creek is a good course that is not too difficult.
The course is in fair condition and it took us 5 hours to play.
Nice course. Not too slow for a Saturday.
The course layout is really nice and easy. It’s a flat course with some hazards. It’s easy to walk. But I did take a cart. The staff are very friendly and try their best to stick to the schedule.
Greens are nice. It was the day after some heavy rain and the grounds were pretty well drained. The greens were even fast which was surprising because of the rain
very good course!
Poplar Creek is a very good course that is not that difficult. The biggest problem is pace of play as the course is popular.
Wet conditions
Sun was out but the course is still quite wet from all the rains.
Held up ok in the rain
Greens largely drained well. Havin a group of 6 in front of us, observed by the marshal, was problematic.
Catch a round before the storm
Great time to get out before the storm. Front 9 is well groomed. Back nine fairways need a trim
Over-Booked and Slow
We had to wait about 20 minutes before we got to tee off on the first hole, which gave us a start time of about 12:20. The waiting was ridiculous on the 2nd hole and we finished it at about 1:15. The 3rd hole was worse, with 3 foursomes waiting to tee off. Among the groups of golfers waiting, we made about 5 calls to the clubhouse to see if the marshall could help speed things up. When the marshall came, his response was "this is a public golf course, this is how it is". He must have thought we've never played at a public course before. Overall, just a very poorly managed operation. Things sped up on the back 9, but only because multiple groups actually left after 4 of 5 holes.
good course
Poplar Creek is a good course with a fun layout.
The course is in fair condition and is good value
Awesome pace of play due to weather
3.5 hours for a Sunday afternoon was fantastic but it was due to the rainy and wet weather. Very sloppy conditions but i rather play fast and sloppy than slow and pristine.
Nice round ....
Course was in decent shape being that it had rained. They were stand still water spots on the course. Fortunate enough for the weather to hold off and it didn’t rain on us. Played the round in 3 hours and 40 mins which is a fast round for Poplar
Beautiful day!
Had a great round with my girlfriend and two gentlemen we were partnered up with. Course was in great condition and we finished our round in just over 4 hours.
Long round
Luckily a group ahead of us quit after 14 holes because we were close to darkness after we finished. Even then we took 4 hours 50 minutes to finish on MLK day. The course wasn't that packed with people but the recent storms resulted in cart path only so invariably the people in carts slowed the pace. Much to my surprised, the fairways were in good condition except for standing water but the greens were extremely bumpy probably due to the excessive water from the storms. Every cleat marks were visible. Greens need to be desperately mowed.
