One of the biggest greens in Bay Area. I paced it off at 75 yards long!! Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017
Avoid
10 handicap and 2 handicap reviewing. COVID and Staff have destroyed this course. With the exception of whole 1 where there is a staff member all tee boxes were unplayable. No grass, no flat lies, huge holes, mud, sand, you name it. Course is always challenging based on the fact there are no areas that will give you a flat lie, greens are always well maintained enough and will present some fun around the greens as well. Fairways are in subpar shape as are bunkers. This course was one of the favorites for us to play and was known as a paradise in the hills. It has quickly faded even prior to covid. Bottom line, it is no longer worth the money to play here. You are met with a largely sub par course that has lost all recognition it has once carried. The staff is always kind here, that is the only saving grace for our round. The course is in really poor shape and is such a shame. If you see the putting green you will see what the course did once look like, lush and green. Considerable care went into this course before, sad to see they have lost their way. Golf is up 85% in the area the courses are booked for weeks ahead of time, money and staff are not at a shortage to execute maintaining this course as well.
Great target golf
Great layout and very well kept. Greens were pristine and fast. Not a lot of relief for bad shots so you gotta hit the fairway. Total thumbs up
What happened?
This course used to be well maintained and challenging. Now it’s just challenging to find a good tee box and good rolling green. It seems this is just another course not making profit now and skimping on maintenance. I have played this course off and on since 2007 and this will be my last time playing unless they start respecting the price they charge. It’s basically an over priced muni course now. Just add this to the 2020 disappointments
Tee boxes are horrific
Course is in OK shape, except for the tee-boxes which are truly horrible. Has been this way for over 6 weeks and they don't seem to care about fixing them.
These are actual pictures recently taken.
Not Again, Even If It Were Free
The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape, so no complaints there. I had a terrible time with blind shots, and found the layout of the course to be totally unfair. I cannot remember the last time I lost so many golf balls when I thought it had been a well-struck shot.
I wouldn't play that course again even if it were free. It's not the fault of the Staff, the conditions, or anything other than that layout is simply not good.
Fun, challenging course
The course played fair and was challenging. The tee boxes were all under repair. There is minimal shade on the course too, so I wouldn’t recommend playing on a very hot day.
Good Course but Needs Some Work!
I live very close to the course and have been playing here often as of late. It is a good layout and the greens are always in good condition as are the fairways generally. The tee boxes need a ton of work. They are in worse shape than any of the courses in the area. It is almost like they were tilled with hardly any grass. For as much as the green fees are you would think they would take care of them and manage them well before they get this ugly! I wish I had taken some pictures to post, but I was not expecting to have to write a review.
I took some pictures and posted. So bad.
The worst course in the San Francisco Bay Area!
The bridges golf course has gone downhill for some time now, the original layout has been changed and it's now terrible. There is a new greens keeper and he's burned every tee box to a practically unusable state. None of the tee boxes are flat any longer and the place is run generally for the wedding services. Pace of play was terrible and the people managing the play are the cart boys who are likely 17 years old. The manager is not a golfer so the entire place is run for weddings, it's become a complete garbage operation with high turnover in the staff because management is terrible. There are signs everywhere telling you to leave your coolers in your car but there's no drink service on the course nor are there any water jugs due to the ignorant covid management decisions. Play somewhere else, trust me on this. This course isn't worth playing for free.
" There is a new greens keeper and he's burned every tee box to a practically unusable state. None of the tee boxes are flat any longer"
Amen to that.
Challenging Course
It’s my second time playing the Bridges. It’s not. Quite. target golf but there are some difficult holes and the course is huge and beautiful. I really enjoy the course
course conditions
Course was not as good as shape as in the past. Greens were slow, fairways in good shape. Tee boxes were in poor condition.
"Tee boxes were in poor condition."
Now that is an understatement. They are DIRT!
always tough
I love the course. Usually in great condition. Employees are friendly. It is a tough course, you can lose a ball on almost every shot. If you can't keep the ball in the fairway, play somewhere else or begin extra balls. when i am hitting the ball better, i will play the course again.
I do think they need to up a cart path on #12 and 16.
Had a great time out at The Bridges!!!
Firstly, before even starting our round, I have to say the staff and Gentleman at the Pro-Shop were EXTREMELY friendly and hospitable. With the Pandemic around us, the facility was very well prepared and followed protocol to ensure the safety of its guests, which I really appreciated. Our Foursome was given each their own cart which most golf courses I’ve visited during the Pandemic, could not provide. They also kept us on a nice schedule which had groups spaced out in a manner where we could really take our time and strategically approach each shot, without feeling rushed. (As this was my first time playing here, not feeling rushed was a HUGE plus.) We didn’t reach the group ahead of us until the 18th Hole, so virtually zero wait time at the tee boxes. I really liked the Golf Carts provided to us, it came equipped with GPS and great detail of the course. The course was well maintained, the greens were awesome and very challenging. Tee boxes needed some work but I’m sure they are very aware of that. I must say that we paid $87 per person for the tee time, and it was worth every penny. A great value, for excellent service and an amazing experience! A BIG Thank you to the ENTIRE Bridges Golf Staff. I’m definitely coming back and recommending to others!
Very challenging course
Love Bridges, have played many times but.....the tee boxes were a joke. What a mess. They definitely need to re-seed, re-plant, or re-do the tee boxes. Awful
What happened?
Prior to covid I used to play the bridges at least 1-2 times every 2 months. Usually the problem with the course is the greens but they were probably the healthiest I've seen in a year. But the tee boxes ugh idk what happened but looks like they either got infected or the ground squirrels are just destroying them. With that said it is always a nice course and a challenge but it's not worth 80$, yet it is packed 24/7 right now...so what do I know.
Great Course - Super Difficult
Everything was great except my score. Course is very difficult and you will get punished for the most minor draws and fades. But when you do well here it's worth it haha. Course and facilities all top notch. I will be back although not too soon, my ego is still whimpering...
C'mon Bridges, get this fixed already. Does not seem like anyone cares, no messages to members. Is this the new norm?
Other parts of fairways are starting to look poor as well.
