Royal/Sabal at Grand Palms Golf & Country Club

First time ever playing here and only needed 9 to never come back.

The absolute worse staff and pace of play. Took 3 hours to play 9. Asked for rain check because ranger wouldn’t tell group to speed up and they declined giving me one. Wouldn’t allow me to have any range balls before playing yet gave them out to members. I will never play here again and advise anyone not to waste their time and money.

I stopped playing the course 2 years ago due to the deteriating course conditions. I tried it again after reading some reviews on GN referencing the improving conditions. The course has improved significantly from 2 years ago and looks like the new superintendent is working to keep improving the course conditions. The fairways are a bit thin but atill playable. Almost all the greens are in very good shape. Good price and value

Great course. Royal 4 is somewhat challenging. Sabal is my favorite. Greens are getting better. Most are in good shape. John, the started, is excellent. Can't say enough about John. I highly recommend this course.

Clubhouse is very welcoming. All staff extremely helpful and everyone has a great attitude. I enjoy playing at any time and appreciate the twilight rates as well. Thanks to everyone there. Keep up the great work. And see you all soon.

Worst concern is the lack of an ranger for as long as can remember so to keep the younger players in check from jumping from hole to hole at will, guessing because never taught proper etiquette.

That alone disrupts pace .

In last year alone maintainance has improved course conditions immensely.

What is a crying shame is that the main structure has been let go for so long (or to be fair maybe because of age alone) parts of it have been condemned by the county.

So the course is basically 3 9-hole courses that wind thru a nice layout with lots fun challenges and long par 3’s. However the rough SWALLOWS any ball, making it super hard to find even if you’re not in the woods. Greens are decent for the price.

Pace of play seems to be the only thing that sucks in this course. You have the option to play any 2 of the 3 courses, but usually when you start the turn you WILL get stuck behind a group. Better than country club of Miami.

Course was a bit rough but for $45 at this time of year it was worth it. Lots of water and carries off the mid to back tees. Some narrow areas off the tees. Greens were in decent shape. I’d play the course again.

Nice and consistent greens, but average fairway/rough/sand conditions. Pace of play particularly bad that day, but usually not an issue. Much improved.
