Flamingo Lakes Country Club

1st hole, waited 15mins for two groups ahead to finish. After our first shot into the fairway, the marshal came over and told us to pick up the pace of play even though we were waiting for 15 mins on the 1st tee box and wasn't able to advance. As well GPS in carts was advertised but not provided on the course.

Uptight manager gave me a hard time about golfing barefoot. Then wouldn’t let me take a videographer out with me on the course. I’ve played 20 courses the past few months, all barefoot, all public courses, and this was the first time I was given a hard time. I’ll obviously never go back. For anyone looking to play with shoes on, layout is ok and it’s a short course from all tee boxes. Greens were in much better condition than the last time I played here.

The course itself is in acceptable condition; some greens were quite rough, and weedy and bald in spots, but generally ran ok.. Water comes into play on a few holes, but generally manageable. Nice landscaping. The condos surrounding the course are, for the most part, far enough from the fairways to not interfere. Clean bathrooms located on several holes, with water stations to refill bottles. No cart girl. Bring food and drinks as you’ll be there for the better part of the day.

However, it was the slowest and most painful round I’ve ever played…closing in on 5 hours with a 12pm teetime on a Thursday. We had to wait to tee off for at least 10 minutes ON EVERY hole…Knew things were off to a bad start while waiting to teeoff on #1….we were sent to first hole by the Starter, and just as we were about to tee off, a 4some of seniors arrived and told us they were actually the teetime ahead of us but had arrived late at check in and felt entitled to jump ahead. We called the ranger to let him know there was some confusion. Ranger showed up and decided to let them go ahead. Well….that was the beginning of our 5hr tortuous round. Two or more groups ahead of us must’ve been thinking that a round of golf was an all day activity. Chatting endlessly on the tee boxes and greens…aimlessly looking for their balls etc. Saw the ranger driving around twice, but he never intervened to speed things up—likely because this course is located in a 55+ community, where the avg age is decades older than that. I guess 5 hrs and constant waiting on every tee box and fairway is par for this course….I’m out!

The course was 20 minutes late in there tee times and it was so slow that we couldn’t play the last 2 holes

Course was in rough shape. 5 out of a 10. Starter not friendly at all, the only time he seemed nice was when he wanted to clean our clubs so he can make a few bucks

We declined his offer, and he grumbled something and walked away.

Greens are relatively new & a bit too firm. Course is is good shape overall. Would play there again 👍🏼
