Awesome conditions
Best conditioned public course in area.Sand traps were the best I’ve seen in central Illinois.The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
Playing at the Atkins Golf Course a real treat
Everything about the Atkins Golf Course was a really good golf experience for central Illinois. From check in to the starter to playing time was a great joy. I will definitely play here again as the ten minutes to get there and the golf pass hot deal price is a big plus!
Phenomenal Golf Experience
Enjoyed a great round during the Labor Day Weekend. Course looks superb. Views were spectacular. Carts are tip top. Staff was super friendly.
Nice course
This course was in great shape EXCEPT for the greens. For an average golfer (like me), they are too hard and too fast.
Excellent course
Extremely fair setup with hard greens with a lot of rollout. Several tees to choose from to make it a fun experience. Highly recommend this course.
Great course, FAST greens!
Played on Monday at noon. There was a 30 minute interruption due to thunderstorm. Finished 18 holes at 3:30pm so 3 hours of play which is fantastic. Pro shop was very friendly and the service was fast at the food and beverage counter. The carts are nice with built in GPS. Greens are ridiculously fast.
Great Challenging Course
Overall for the lack of rain in Great Condition. Greens were fast but a little dinged up. Fairways and bunkers in great condition for the time of year. If an experienced golfer it’s a must to play. Pace of play was great!
A must play
This was a first time round at Atkins GC. Everything was perfect from tee box, on the lush fairways to the greens, that were quicker than I'm accustomed to. Lol.
I will play this course again this fall for sure.
Great course-horrible management
I e played Atkins a number of times both before and after the change. Today’s round may be my last! Course in great shape. Fast greens manicured and shot my best sub 80 round if the year.
But the management thinks they’re running Bay Hill or Pebble Beach! We got two carts for our 4 some. Two guys did not show-sick/illness. We head to tee with both carts. No problem at pro shop or starter. We finish #1 and up drives an asst manager telling us to reload o to one cart. No single carts for you!!! Why? No explanation - just unload to one cart and in fact he took my clubs off my cart and then did the same with all my belongings! We questioned the motive and the reasoning and his comment was no single carts please proceed to hole #2. and drive off with the 2nd cart keys as it sat there.
Rude! Belligerent! Unprofessional!
There’s plenty of great courses to play in central Illinois with good personnel that appreciate players! Do not need the “Troon” attitude.
MANAGEMENT IS COLD AS ICE
I have played Atkins Club four times now since the reopening the course is in good condition But every time I go I get read the right act from the Pro and now the assistant Pro. I had my nine year-old son with me who did not have clubs. He was simply riding along with me since it’s summer and I do not have a sitter for him. They charged me $25 ghostwriter fee. They called it, I told them that every time I come out there they have a beef with me harassing me about something and the pro simply replied “well at least I’m consistent”
I’ve never felt so unappreciated as a customer as I have at this golf course and I’ve played probably 5,000 rounds of golf in my day including a stint on the Mini Tours.
This place just doesn’t get it

Green is really fast and challenging. Beautiful course. Will come back and play again.
Great Day At Atkins
Had a great practice round at Atkins Golf Club. Course was in great shape. Greens are quick and difficult, but that just makes the birdies even sweeter. Got to meet the club pro on the first tee. Was great to chat with him about the course. The marshal did a great job of regulating play. Can’t wait to come back.
Breezy but beautiful
Enjoyed a great day of golf at Adkins...course was in great shape, greens are faster than any other course I've played in Illinois so a little challenging to get used to. It was pretty windy but that kept us nice and cool. Staff was very nice. Pace wad a little slow due to a small outing playing ahead of us a few holes, but nothing too bad. Play Adkins...you will enjoy it!
