Riverwood Golf Club

Heard good reviews so when a time popped up end of season at half the usual hundred bucks, jumped on it. Bag guy was great and helpful for our first time there. The starter was a little grumpy but came around when we chatted it up about being from Boston. Members’s were very nice. Seems like a vibrant club. Nice practice areas. Tee boxes had just been aerated so they were a little rough but flat. Many are elevated. Fairways, greens, bunkers were excellent and pace was good at under 4 hours. The course has a lot of character for Florida with hills, woods, water, and sand, making holes as challenging as you want depending on tees, risk and reward. Played with a nice couple members who showed us the ropes. Overall one of the nicer courses in the area. I’d recommend playing there.

My whole 4some agreed that this is the best course that we’ve played in the past 6 months.

The condition of the fairways and the greens were pristine. Many of the greens are quite small but the immediate area around the greens, the apron or 1st cut, are well manicured and very consistent.

We will definitely return for another round ASAP.

First time playing Riverwood - great reviews on golf now and we decided to make the 45 minute drive from Sarasota . Not disappointed at all,

Know - friendly staff , nice range as well - gave 4 star for most because it’s tough to get 5 stars , kinda buggy and no gps on carts —but we had rangefinder - we willl be back !

During the Covaid 19 crisis some courses have closed to public play. A friend told me to try Riverwood. While it’s an hour drive for me it’s well worth it. Got a decent golfnow hotdeal.

The course was in great shape with a great layout. The facilities were excellent and the range was open. Balls r left there so u only touch the balls with ur club head. What could be easier and safer?

Staff was friendly and everyone kept their social distance. If it wasn’t so far away I would consider a membership.

All the other recommended precautions were taken. A must try if u r anywhere near this golf course

One warning... Waze GPS wants to take u to the private homeowners entrance. U can’t get it. U have to navigate to Riverwood Road gated entry.

Very nice coarse. With all the rain we got on Friday I thought the coarse might be very wet but only had to stay on cart path for 2 holes. It lived up to the good reputation that I’d heard about. I’ll be back

My golf mates and myself have played Riverwood many times. As season is winding down in Florida we were able to afford playing recently. The course is totally perfect in every way. You could actually tee off and use your putter the rest of the way if you wanted to. Perfection is an understatement. The staff is as friendly as family. I will always come back all summer and recommend this course to anyone who asks. I would put it in my top 3 course.

Have always had a good experience playing here. Nicely manicured course. We played in a timely manner. Course maintained all the virus precautions. Everything was fine.

The course is in amazing condition, you wouldn’t even think we’ve gone through season down here in SWFL. Loved the layout, the course is tough yet fair. Practice facility is top notch. Lots of routine maintenance being performed during our tee time, great to see and didn't interrupt our pace of play. Our threesome got around in 3:15.

Food and beverage were not available due to COVID-19.

Starter was great, very nice guy and cared about your experience.

Staff in the clubhouse could be more approachable, very transactional and stand offish.

Will definitely be coming back. It’s worth the trip!

This course was a joy to play, a great layout playing thru a beautiful water and trees-filled environment. Riverwoods is a semi-private course with a staff that was very hospitable to newcomers (such as my foursome). From the very first tee the course presented itself as a fair but solid challenge to our group of 5-10 handicappers -- lakes and ponds were everywhere one looked yet the holes were never too "tight" and were deceptively roomy (especially from the tee). The greens were not large and generally presented tough targets to hit.

The course itself was in excellent condition for mid-April. Take care when choosing what tees to play from -- lower handicappers may wish to select the Blue tees, or a combo of the Blue-White tees, for a better challenge.

I drove 60 minutes from Lee County to play at Riverwoods, but I was very satisfied with my choice -- I could play this course every day and be quite happy.

This is a great course and play is perfect. Some easy holes and some difficult holes. The staff was great and very helpful.

Employees were very friendly , informative and the pace of play was well above average given the fact they had a full course of players .i would rate this course one of the best in Southwest Florida.

This golf course has everything .. driving range, chipping area, putting area, ice & water. The staff were friendly & helpful. Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the restaurant due to the virus shutdown. Everything was clean & I felt comfortable being socially distant from all. The layout is challenging yet friendly to the average golfer. There is less break on the greens than you think. The course was in outstanding shape. Will definitely return.

Everything from John at the bag drop to the golf snap staff was top notch. You will not find a better course in this area. Great shape, good layout, many tees to choose from and some great golf holes. It’s a GEM!!!
