Achasta Golf Club

Tee boxes, fairways, greens and even bunkers in great shape. We played from blue tees and driver was not needed on many holes. Wide open fairways on most holes with some target golf shots required for others to be in position for approach shot to green. If you are a long-hitter, I would recommend black tees. Beautiful course and surroundings in scenic foothills of GA mountains!

I loved the course. Very peaceful round of golf in the foothills of the Appalachan Mountains.

An hour drive from Buckhead but well worth it. Pristine conditions in a gorgeous natural setting...what more can you want? Friendly staff in a private club atmosphere. I will be back.

If you live within 1000 miles of Atlanta, this course just made your bucket list. I played the course just before the start of summer, so the weather was perfect. The greens were excellent, and the natural beauty of the surroundings, and the way the course is laid out along the river are spectacular.
And to top it all off, I got a Hot Deal!
This golf course is a true gem.

If you're into golf course architecture you will like this course. The holes are naturally laid out along the river, and there are no gimmicks. Jack Nicklaus has done a masterful job and the holes look like they belong there. Pick the right set of tees for your skill level to maximize your enjoyment. If you're into golf tourism, play here and some other North Georgia Mountains courses that are highly rated.

I love this course - it feels and plays like a private club without the cost and attitude. It is a little bit of a drive, but well worth the trip!

A level tract, beautiful scenery, very well maintained. Most holes are very reasonable and playable. No 15 is a killer for me. Greens were still in post-aerated state, but fast and true Tee yardages could be adjusted to accommodate seniors more. Whites are still a bit long on many holes, reds are too short. Expensive to play most days, but some bargain days make it OK.

a nice change from the courses I so often play that are lined with houses to the point of distraction.

While the greens had recently been punched and showed some signs of winter stress, this is a fun course to play. After the first three holes, most of the course plays along the river, The wind funnels along the river valley adding to the fun. Down wind for about half and in your face for the finish. A Golfnow deal is a must when you play.

Can't think of anything bad except, I would like to see pictures of each hole on the scorecard so you know where water was lurking. Great course in pristine condition even with all the rain.
If you haven't played it watch out for water on the par 5s. Second par 5 on the back is a brute. Hardest part of this course is the par 5s and the approach shot to the greens.
If you are anywhere near chestatee, drive the additional 10 miles to play this beauty.

I played the Masters Sunday and of course, the pace was really fast. Considering it was a private course, the greens were not as well maintained. But over all, my guests were very pleased with the course layout and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. I am looking forward to play again.

The complete experience at Achasta was truly great. The staff were so incredibly friendly, the course was in great shape even though the greens were a bit firm, and the pace of play was wonderful. I can't really think of anything else to want out of a day of golf. The course itself is laid out in a beautiful environment with surrounding lots and homes. Excellent use of the natural lay of the land and bringing in the river into play on multiple holes.

Even though I was not playing well, it was a treat to see this beautiful course on a perfect day. I'll be back soon.

Tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers were in excellent condition. The scenic river running through the course makes you stop and enjoy nature. It has been about a year since I played this course, but I'll be tuning in to golf now for another deal. Magnificant golf experience!

Course was in great condition considering all the rain they had and the time of year. The only thing that was bad was the "cart path only" but we expected that due to very soggy fairways in some areas. Greens were in good shape and they putted very true. Quick, but not too fast. The people there from the man at the guard house to the staff in the club house were the most friendly and helpful people I have ever run into at a golf course. They were so great it didn't even upset me that I was charged $28.00 for a hat with a $25.00 price tag on it. LOL! Can't wait to go back and play when the conditions are back to normal. If you get a chance to play here.........Just Do It!

This is my favorite course in North Gerogia. It is absolutely gorgeous, never crowded and a fantastic challenge.

Great course! Conditions are excellent greens are fast and tricky. Staff is excellent. Challanging holes. I will return as often as possible. A real gem in northern GA.

This is one of my favorite courses! The Nicklaus designed course proves to challenge even the seasoned veterans. Couldn't ask for many better views than the Chestatee River that runs right along the course. The staff is great and provided ample opportunities to extend their services to me and my guest. Maintenance of facility and course is top notch. Not sure if this course has a bad lie anywhere! I will most certainly play here again on multiple occasions.
