Not worth $20
The tee time reservation said "includes cart " & yet, no carts. I had to negotiate just to get a PULL CART, even though there were 4 outside!! There is no grass on most of the tee boxes. The first green literally has a crater the size of a small bunker. Needles to say, the price attracts many novices so the pace of play is abysmal. If you can afford to golf, spend the extra $10 or $20 where you'd have a better chance at enjoying your round.
Marshall not helpful
Brought my wife to the course for first time. She is a new golfer and doesn’t have clubs. She was apprehensive and nervous because there were quite a few golfers around waiting for first tee. Had paid through Golfnow for 2 golfers and we didn’t know of rule that said each person had to have own set of clubs. She’s just used mine in the past at other courses because she’s brand new to the sport. Walked up to first tee and Marshall basically said we were out of luck to play. She was pretty dismissive and unwelcoming to the both of us. Instead of asking us about our situation she made my wife feel pretty excluded which she was already feeling anyway. Later after my wife got pretty upset she offered us a loaner pair of clubs or refund. She was right to enforce the rules but to someone new to the sport who didn’t know the rules, the Marshall could’ve used a little more personal approach to new customers. We left without playing or refund. Customer service at this course was pretty bad on this day. Not sure I would return.
Great value for the money
There was a good variety of holes to challenge most skill levels. Greens are an on going battle, however; they are getting better.
Greens still need some work
Fairways are pretty good. Rough is just that. But unfortunately for a hacker like me thats where i spend most of my time. But always enjoy playing here
Horrendous pace of play management
Booked a 10am tee time via GolfNow only to show up to a line of golfers 30 deep waiting to tee off on 1. What’s the point of a “tee time” if you don’t get to be in the tee box at that time. They were letting walk ups pay and just head to the first tee. I ended up hitting my first ball at 10:50am. Not to mention it is a walking 9 hole course so you hit then wait. Finished nine holes in 4 hours. Payed for 18 on the app but wanted to get home before dinner. I’m not a snooty golfer so I can ignore the green conditions.
Great Municipal Course for the Price
I enjoyed my round at John A White. The fairways were well kept and most of the greens. The pace of play was quite poor, but a simple starter could fix the delay. Highly recommend to any new to the sport or casual golfers to play on weekends with friends.
Great value for money
Can't be beaten for the money. Key phrase: for the money.
Good value
Tee boxes & greens could use some TLC but great value for the price if you want to keep your game tuned up. As one of the only courses that was open in the area during the shutdown, it got SUPER busy and slow.
Great value and good walk
It’s a city course so don’t expect East lake. The course layout is truly interesting and fun. The greens are sub par but everything else is entertaining. The walk is equivalent to 44 flights of stairs so there is some elevation. I’m a stump meter the greens would be an 8 or less versus Bobby Jones where the greens are a 10+ in the meter. But great value for the $$$.
Fun Course to Walk, Much Less $$$ Direct
We really enjoyed walking this course today. Our only regret was not booking directly. Golfnow almost always charges a discount rate. But not for this course. We could have paid just $7 (senior rate for 9) had we booked direct. Cost $16+ instead. For 9 holes, walking
First tee.
If you are a beginner golfer I would recommend this course for you. A lot of leverage to help you get your golf ball get to the pin. The hills help carry your ball but you better hit the ball straight to make par! Great course!
Not good but ok
Course layout is good but condition is not good, green has many damages, staff is unfriendly. Overall is ok but not recommended for 18 holes.
Excellent greens for winter time
Woah! 9 hole course well design for a beginner and thanks to the staff who make your experience fun and enjoyable. Love the environment and atmosphere! This is my course to play in Atlanta!
Golfnow Special
Great customer service
Alaygra greeted us with a smile and thanked us for our business
Fairways in great shape and rough not too high
A couple of the greens are stressed from the heat but the others rolled good
Good track to walk and work on your swing
